Here is a tweet from FoxSports Ken Rosenthal about Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Tommy Hanson:
Okay Rosenthal, now we need an entire article on this so we can get even more excited. Though this tweet was pretty concise with its information.

Tommy was always an injury waiting to happen
The almost complete absence of torso involvement in his throwing motion should have been dealt with while he was in the minor leagues.I dont know that theres much to be excited about in an extensive change in delivery at this point in his career.

Yeah, I’m glad he made the adjustment. Hope it works out.

Maybe it'll be a faster delivery to the plate also
Not sure how to look the numbers and percentages up, but it seemed like people had a high rate of success running on him.
vooodooo - February 9, 2012
oh, he was brutal at holding runners on. Like you, I don’t have the numbers, but I remember a graphic last year in one of his games stating that he was among the league’s worst.

DOB tweet sounds promising

#Braves Hanson’s more compact delivery should relieve some shoulder stress and also make him quicker to plate. Holding runners was weakness.

doesn’t help when Mac can’t throw them out either.

Tommy Caveman lol
Thats awesome

cautiously optimistic
A little worrisome as to how long before he can get used to the new delivery and it’s effectiveness.

Hopefully he will no longer “Robin Hood” the ball when he pitches. Always bothered me…

Thanks for the link . Good to hear this news :
Peter Gammons, an MLB Network Insider, reported on Tuesday during the network’s program Hot Stove that Hanson has "shortened up his arm action, he’s eliminated that little hesitation that he had in his delivery."
He went on to mention that "he’s really smoothed out, his arm really feels good and more importantly, hitters that have stepped in against him say they are having a very difficult time picking up the ball."
Today, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported via Twitter that the Braves are "excited by Hanson’s revamped delivery. He’s more compact, making better use of legs. Shoulder issue forced adjustments."
So if the reports are true , Tommy should have an even better year than last year . Maybe even be able to finish out the year . I really like how the reports says that hitters are saying that they are having a tougher time picking up the ball .

???
Isn’t this exactly the type of adjustment that should have been made years ago in the minors?
ChillyMutt - February 10, 2012
I just hope the arm deceleration and recoil after release have been fixed as well
If not, the shoulder injury is still just as much of a concern IMO.

According to the link provided by JimK
Peter Gammons take on the new delivery would say that he has fixed both of those issues :
Hanson has “shortened up his arm action, he’s eliminated that little hesitation that he had in his delivery.”
He went on to mention that “he’s really smoothed out”
bravesdude - February 10, 2012
I hope you're right
If they were really were able to make such a big adjustment in his mechanics in one off season, I think it says a lot about both Tommy’s dedication and the ability of the Braves coaches to get through to pitchers. Mechanical adjustments are hard to make at 19 and 20. Making them when they’’re as ingrained as Tommy’s is something special. Fingers crossed.
