And made it a point to plead with them not to force Tommy to trim the beard. Trim the beard and he might fall right off the wagon again. Everything was going along fine for him until the major cuts took place. Tommy’s response was, “I don’t think they’ll let me keep it.” Wren’s response was, “Well, it’s not my call.”
I would have mentioned it to Fredi Gonzalez as well, but he and I conversed for a solid minute about batting Prado lower in the order. Bat him lower in the order, and he turns back into an RBI machine. Sure, there may not be a “natural” guy to hit 2nd, but Chipper and/or Freeman could probably do it, well.
