From a tweet from Mark Bowman today regarding Atlanta Braves pitcher Tommy Hanson:
Yikes! Bowman followed up with tweets saying that Hanson blew a tire and bumped his head. Hanson was being checked for a concussion at the hospital, but no word yet on the results of those evaluations.

Okay, the headline freaked me out
Perhaps it would do to dial it down. When I heard “auto accident,” I saw “Guy drives through a stoplight and T-Bones him.” This sounds minor enough. Even if it’s a concussion, he can just take 10 days and he should be fine, and it might not even be a concussion.
The only thing worth checking is that sometimes you can get whiplash and not immediately notice the symptoms. Hopefully they’ll check him out all right after he visits the hospital.

For some reason this reminded me of last year when I found out on here about D-Lowe’s DUI incident. Although the idea of Lowe getting suspended didn’t seem to affect me negatively at all… Any problem with Hanson does though.

He’s seen out at the Buckhead bars quite often, so I hope this wasn’t alcohol related. Sounds a little fishy though. Fredi said there was no police report, “He just came around the corner a bit too hot”.

I doubt it was alcohol related as well, but the heavy drinking is not a rumor; he likes to drink. Not saying I know whether or not he has a problem, but it’s something the organization should certainly investigate when considering any contract extension/arb buyout.
