Among the MLB teams that worked with Qcue last season, the average price change per ticket was an increase of $1.55, according to the company. Of tickets that went up in price, the average increase was $3.27. Of those going down, the average decrease was $13.63.
For games with competitive teams, expect a slight increase and buy your tickets early to avoid the price increase. For games that aren’t expected to be highly-attended, wait for the price to drop precipitously and get in for cheap.
Even though the Rockies games are all fairly well-attended, I wish they’d adopt the system. Instead of purchasing the crappy Rockpile tickets for $5 and walking the concourse to watch the game, I’d rather be able to pick up tickets late with a steep discount and sit in decent (but otherwise empty) seats for $15-30. I love walking up and getting tickets when I’m bored, so this would work pretty well for me.
I like this. I like this a lot.
