i hope soon they said hes running around taking grounders hitting so i guess they are just being very careful and they said if they lost last night they would of put him in today. im hoping he will come in the 6th as a defensive sub and dominate !!!
i hope if his recovery doesn’t allow him to make a great come back again i really hope he can get a great job with the braves being a coach or something i love that guy
He’s always been the one keeping the clubhouse relaxed during even the worst of stretches. This just proves what a classy man and team player Moylan is. I hope his surgery/rehab goes well so we can see the side-armer from down under next year.
and help to keep you out of the playoffs. Today will be payback for the conspiracy that was the strike-shortened season of ’94 when we were clearly going to win the division over you cowards. What goes around comes around—get used to having to deal with Strasburg, Harper, and Werth for the next 15 years!
If Werth is playing until he’s 47, that would be impressive. And if he wants to keep putting up 102 wRC+ for money that you guys are paying him, cool with us as well.
I cant listen to braves broadcasters so i have muted the mlb tv and put on radio but radio is way faster then the tv so is there any way to get them in sync ???/
There used to be an extension in Firefox that allowed you to play embedded media in VLC. VLC allows for an audio delay. I suppose if you combine the two that might work, but I honestly have no idea about how well that would work, if at all.
He was probably just in the right place at the right time after deciding to go up there and sign some autographs right in the middle of a baseball game.
He actually doesn’t have a great out pitch, but all of his pitches are good so he can swing and misses on any of them and keeps hitters guessing. He could K even more if he develops a pitch into a true out pitch.
If the Braves win and the Cardinals lose today....
I’m entertaining buying tickets for tomorrow’s game – LF baseline, first row, $21 each on StubHub right now… The biggest downside is there’s a 60% chance of rain tomorrow afternoon in D.C.
How many college apartments do you know of that keep freshly squeezed orange juice in their fridge… wait… How many college apartments do you know of that have a juicer?
One of the colleges near the college that I went to (all in a consortium, we had access to their classes/facilities) had fresh oranges and a juicer for use during brunch at their dining hall.
he will also screw all the players wifes so every one hates him the team will fight each other every month jaysin worth will get very old very quick and the nats will always stay a shyttttty team sorry but iif you going troll i will right back !!!
Not that I think Delgado/Minor would do too badly, but we need shutdown performances with our craptastic offense, and I don’t know if they can deliver them consistently enough. Not that we need consistency, we just need them when they start.
Don’t think it has been mentioned, but GS just boarded a plane from Orlando to DC. He finished all the extra work that the Braves wanted him to finish, even though he has been ready for nearly two weeks.
It makes you wonder, do they ever look at film of their at bats?
This year, there has been an awful lot to see of them swinging poor pitches.
But we hardly see any adjustments – on a consistent basis.
Cuz you bastards cant do anything right. We are gonna march through your town like Sherman straight to the NL east championship for the next 10-15 years. Book It.
Meh. Bourn wasn’t the tying run. This team can only score on homers for the most part, so that base was not that relevant. I’d rather give Chipper/Uggla a chance to bat with men on base.
Manuel said when they played the Cards he owed it to them and us to play all his regulars and give their all (paraphrasing). if we haven’t clinched then he’ll do the same I’m sure.
yes true but what are the odds a big league pitcher getting the big bucks walks 2 then throws a wild pitch ??? and also what are the odds the team your against for the wild card has a retarded manager and puts in the worst pitcher ??
we win tomorrow with minor !! then go on to braves country and win game one against the phillies with delgado on the mound hopefully the cards lose one of those two and we clinch !!!!
If Fredi goes out there and argues that call, which was clearly incorrect, some kind of damn gimme call for Pudge based on tenure, I guess, and if Fredi shows some freaking passion and gets thrown out of the game there, we still won’t win, I think, because we’re so inept at the plate. (I mean we have an entire team in a slump simultaneously. Even Michael Bourn who ought to be immune to the Parrish effect.)
But at least it would suggest to the players that these games matter and they ought to be treating them like the WS if they plan to make the first round.
Instead Fredi had the most contented look on his face, a pleasant bovine expression, like he just finished a big plate of spaghetti. I wonder if he even knew Bourn was on base.
When is Sea Bass going to be swimming at short again?

but I can’t make fun of him for it. I’d wear one too if I were him.
Classic17 - September 24, 2011
Just saying...
Beachy is 17th in the NL in strikeout, with 6-10 less starts than everyone in front of him..
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
Think of how many more he’d have if he could just keep those pitch counts down a bit.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Unfortunately, striking out a lot of hitters is not conducive to low pitch counts.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
It is a sign of having a great out pitch though.
He will work on it as he gets more experience i’m sure.
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
He actually doesn’t have a great out pitch, but all of his pitches are good so he can swing and misses on any of them and keeps hitters guessing. He could K even more if he develops a pitch into a true out pitch.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
Yeah, I mean, the occasional nibbling. And the weird loss of control that happens sometimes.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
5+ ERA – let’s hit this guy already.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
Hit it to someone else, Martin.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Chipper not happy. Missed that one
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
Yeah, thinking he rarely barks at the plate.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
Attaboy Chip
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
That was a pretty awesome swing by Gramps
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Single - pay attention guys - make him throw
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
Let’s not steal with Chipper please.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
What you talking about?
Chipper wants the playoffs, I say send him to 2nd, 3rd and home… ALL ON THE SAME PITCH.
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
oh for heavens sake no he will have to sit out the rest of the season after that !!!!!!!!!!!
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
Okay, that’s now TWO absolutely crushed balls that have gone for outs.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Robbed again.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011

nypeach83 - September 24, 2011
Good grief.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
WOW. We can't buy a break today
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
If the Braves win and the Cardinals lose today....
I’m entertaining buying tickets for tomorrow’s game – LF baseline, first row, $21 each on StubHub right now… The biggest downside is there’s a 60% chance of rain tomorrow afternoon in D.C.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
Rodrigo Lopez was a throwing error away from getting Pujols/Berkman/Holliday to go down 1-2-3.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
He's holding his own so far. Nice to see
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
Good grief, that outside corner getting the call every time.

EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
Yes they do
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
Given the at-bats we had against Wang this half-inning, if Ankiel doesn’t catch that ball off of Bourn’s bat we might still be batting.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
hey who knows if freddi g did not send brain McCann we could still be batting !!!
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
Poor Beachy… no run support at all.
And who woulda thunk our approach to Strasburg would be > than Wang.
Saaaaaad.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011

wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
Pitching around Werth? Probably.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011

NCChopper - September 24, 2011

wpf3211 - September 24, 2011

groundball....?
Bizarros - September 24, 2011
Its Beachy.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
there were 4 pitches in that AB that were strikes
Stephen M - September 24, 2011

Ok, ROSS needs a start. Enough of this.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
Wait what?
abraves257 - September 24, 2011
McCann is not batting, can't field, horrible pitch call, everything.
Kobe:The Legend - September 24, 2011
I know it was a wild pitch, but Brian takes some odd routes to blocking the balls in the dirt.
That’s what, 3 that’s gotten by him so far today?
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
True,
but I still think we should have a little more faith in him than that and that last pitch was clearly a strike
abraves257 - September 24, 2011
This is not going to end well...
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
good maybbe that will wake his ass up
unreel20 - September 24, 2011

Kobe:The Legend - September 24, 2011

Also a strike.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
think its time to bring in cmart or JT
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
It is Beachy’s fault that he’s bouncing curveballs.
It’s not his fault that balls he puts in the zone are not being called strikes.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
true but hes not pitching that well
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
I'd rather him bounce a curve on 0-2

NCChopper - September 24, 2011
Bobby would’ve been thrown out by the 2nd inning.

And the Cubs get out of the inning, still 1-0.
tomahawklove - September 24, 2011

Frozen Fan - September 24, 2011

NCChopper - September 24, 2011

ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
Prado, that’s twice you’ve hit crappy grounders on 3-1 pitches.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Prado has had the worst ABs today. Really bad swings in hitter counts.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
Prado doesn’t like walks.

Homer or bust offense.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Sigh
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
The sad part is—when we do what we did yesterday—work counts, get hits, get doubles with men on, take advantage of errors, etc, we score tons of runs.
When we all try to hit it into the bleachers, it’s an offensive performance reminiscent of a deflating balloon.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
It’s like baseball by Sybil.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
somebody did. We need men on base.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
Yeah – I wrote that at 2-0… was hoping Chipper would walk.

Gonna be hard considering we can’t hit Gorzelanny. Or that random Henry Rodriguez guy.

but that means ari will be hot when we play them
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
At this point our rotation is:
Huddy
Struggling Beachy
Imp-Lowesion/Rookies
Not that I think Delgado/Minor would do too badly, but we need shutdown performances with our craptastic offense, and I don’t know if they can deliver them consistently enough. Not that we need consistency, we just need them when they start.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
I'd be reasonably comfortable with....
Hudson
Beachy
Hanson/Delgado
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
the craptastic offense is the real worry.

It makes you wonder, do they ever look at film of their at bats?
This year, there has been an awful lot to see of them swinging poor pitches.
But we hardly see any adjustments – on a consistent basis.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
I don’t know. It never gets asked about anymore and it has definitely been one of the biggest problems with the Braves this year.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011

ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
so much failure
how can two teams fail so much?
mebravesfan - September 24, 2011
what an idiot
dank7 - September 24, 2011
Marmol, you sack of crap
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Tie game..........
dragonhawk26 - September 24, 2011
MARMOL WILD PITCH CARDS WIN WHAT A FUCKING IDIOT
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
3 STRAIGHT walks
dank7 - September 24, 2011
for fucks sake cards win on a wild pitch now
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
Unbelievable.
Cards win.
nypeach83 - September 24, 2011
Good news...
Phillies just lost their 7th in a row.
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
not really
they are just going through the motions right now
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Okay, if they get to use that excuse. So do we.
Braves only struggling because we’re going through the motions.
life is good again, woo
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
they get to use that excuse because they have the best record in the NL locked up.
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Yes, I know.
But you’re implying they’ll be going through the motions with us right? Last 3 games of the year?
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
no I'm not.
Manuel said when they played the Cards he owed it to them and us to play all his regulars and give their all (paraphrasing). if we haven’t clinched then he’ll do the same I’m sure.
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Gotcha.
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
Thanks for making me feel a little better.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
well that was devestating
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
wow
dank7 - September 24, 2011
cards have way to much luck
the braves turn has to come around soon !!!
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
marmol sucking isn't luck
it’s marmol sucking
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
yes true but what are the odds a big league pitcher getting the big bucks walks 2 then throws a wild pitch ??? and also what are the odds the team your against for the wild card has a retarded manager and puts in the worst pitcher ??
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
with marmol?
the odds are pretty good
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Well, at least tomorrow we’ll be only as bad as we were before the games yesterday.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
wat?
dank7 - September 24, 2011
Yesterday we were 2 up. Tomorrow if this score holds we’ll be two up.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
oh word..
not easy to understand what you initially wrote
dank7 - September 24, 2011
Carlos Marmohmy
dank7 - September 24, 2011
Other game bitching can commence here ;-)

NCChopper - September 24, 2011
The NUMBER 1 reason I don't bet with the Cubs..
Carlos FUCKING Marmol. Burn your fucking money. Throw a fastball. why always slider for no strike? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
HI State of Mind - September 24, 2011
Fuck you Marmol
Frozen Fan - September 24, 2011
wild pitch game over
Stephen M - September 24, 2011
3 straight walks and a wild pitch..
I could pitch better than that
dank7 - September 24, 2011
3 straight home runs? :{
HI State of Mind - September 24, 2011
the game was over when he walked Molina
he didn’t get ahead of another batter because he became too concerned about the runners on base and not the hitter
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Sure...
Tossing the ball across the plate, underhanded, around 30mph…..you’d get some outs just by luck.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
yea man
they wouldn’t know what was up. Eephus FTW!
dank7 - September 24, 2011
so did quade think that after 3 straight walks marmol would all of a sudden get it together?
Stephen M - September 24, 2011
he
must be taking tips from Fredi
Erihury - September 24, 2011
No. That’s Marmol’s usual save. No joke.
HI State of Mind - September 24, 2011
any closer that with two outs is focused on a guy at 1st base
should not be a closer.
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Maybe we can score some runs if Fredi has decided not to make us run into outs.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
yeah right then we will do hit and runs and squeeze plays !!!!!!!!!!
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
I still can’t believe Chipper didn’t get a shot last inning. I hope the Braves front office is watching. Giving away out has killed us all season.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
Exactly.
With no CS, that sac fly would have made it 4-2, with Chipper the tying run.
TheMelkHasSpoiled - September 24, 2011
9th inning Magic!!
Btw Cubs Suck
biggjoe404 - September 24, 2011
Marmol sucks…
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
Please let Storen have a meltdown where he walks Chipper and Uggla and McCann hits one out of the yard.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
we already saw the meltdown, but Fredi wasn’t content with it.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
Wtf, Chipper
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
way to make him work
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
yay
dank7 - September 24, 2011
2
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
Well Storen ain’t going to walk dudes, now. Make solid contact, I guess?
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Blarg,
mebravesfan - September 24, 2011
Dan
gets on base
Erihury - September 24, 2011
Need another baserunner.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
Uggla hustles...
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
baserunner. woo
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Good hit uggs.
mebravesfan - September 24, 2011
watch a 2 run HR now
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
McCann almost had it…
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
Way to keep us alive Danny
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
and
Mac pops up on the first pitch lol
Erihury - September 24, 2011
parrished
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
McCann and Chipper have really screwed us this inning.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
so much hacking
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
WTF MAC
wpf3211 - September 24, 2011
I was Ross starting tomorrow.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
he might have been anyway
and even if he wasn’t they’d probably say he was
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
So you’re both David Ross and a time traveler….interesting.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
Oopsy, meant…. “want”
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
That’s far less interesting.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - September 24, 2011
Single and BMac impatient again
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
I was going to go to the game today.
glad I didn’t
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
Fitting to K on a ball out of the zone.
ATLtruth - September 24, 2011
appeal??
who did the announcers say was appealing? I just caught the end of it
Minnix - September 24, 2011
Even with Tschida, Nationals ridiculous defense, and Parrish in our dugout, one run against Wang/Gorzelanny is inexcusable.
Enjoy your two-game lead for an afternoon, guys.
Ivan the Great - September 24, 2011
we lost it in the 8th when frddi g made the decision to send bourn
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
Two up with four to play.
Theres worse things in life. Shitty ten minute series of events to get there. Go Hokies!
Frozen Fan - September 24, 2011
Wang > Strasburg
2011 Braves season in a nutshell
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
Meanwhile, the Phillies resting at 50% effort, waiting for our games with them.
NCChopper - September 24, 2011
which was why I wanted a clinch before that series
so we didn’t HAVE to beat them.
however, we’re going to have to beat them at least once no matter what, maybe twice depening how things go tomorrow.
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
to me tomorrow should be treated like the last game of the year…. an absolute must win ball game.
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
assuming the Cards keep winning
which is a safe bet, but still.
mebravesfan - September 24, 2011
I can't think anyone will want to just not win and hope that the Cards don't either.
you want to get in on your own steam
nuftjedi - September 24, 2011
not necessarily true
the braves could lose every remaining game with the phillies and win the WS.
stillnotah8er - September 24, 2011
A haiku:
Sooner or later
we actually should clinch.
Let’s get on that guys.
mebravesfan - September 24, 2011
Blech
to us and Marmol
dank7 - September 24, 2011
oh well now that ive clam down
we win tomorrow with minor !! then go on to braves country and win game one against the phillies with delgado on the mound hopefully the cards lose one of those two and we clinch !!!!
unreel20 - September 24, 2011
back to panic mode.
Broccoman - September 24, 2011
on the Bourn caught-stealing
AmosM - September 24, 2011
this is one of my seasonal bets
field steals under 66.
Bourn is a great talent.
