Let's continue our charity theme today, and since we're playing the Pirates why don't we combine the two. Braves catcher Brian McCann has been nominated as a finalist for the 2010 Roberto Clemente Award, which is given every year to a baseball player to recognize his community service efforts.
Brian is involved with the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, a non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds specifically for childhood cancer research to find better treatments and cures.
You can vote for Brian, or any of the finalists, at the MLB Clemente Award site. After you vote you can register for a chance to win a trip to the 2010 World Series (yet another theme for the day). Support Brian by voting today.
So to recap,
Former Braves who have won this award include John Smoltz (2005), Dale Murphy (1988), and Phil Niekro (1980).

Should have already won this award. Here’s hoping BMac gets it this time.

Of course I'll vote for him
If Brian McCann ever ran for president, I’d quit my job to work for his campaign.
