For the rest of the season we'll keep a daily tally of the Atlanta Braves chances of making the postseason, along with daily commentary. Also consider this a daily open thread for general chatting.
| NL East | W | L | PCT | GB | STRK | Magic Num | Playoff Odds |
| Phillies | 88 | 61 | .591 | - | W6 | 11 | 98.5% |
| Braves | 85 | 64 | .570 | 3 | W2 | 17 | 81.3% |
Tim Hudson's mastery returned yesterday much to the Braves delight. Is it now too much to ask Derek Lowe to continue the mastery of pitching that he showed during his last start? Dare I say the s-word in describing today's game.
No point in putting St. Louis on the Wild Card standings anymore. The Giants and Padres swapped places again in the NL West, so we are once again in front of San Fran instead of San Diego, and because of that, and because of the difference in games played between those teams, we actually pick up half a game for our Wild Card lead -- neat.

Watch out.....the Rockies are closing in!

Don't do it gondeee... No one dare utter the "S" word until after the game today.
:-)
The Rockies are on our heels too, which like the dang Phils, refuse to lose of late.
Can the opposing pitchers please stop pitcing to the “T” man and not let him single handedly dominate the games.

The Colorado “Let’s be mediocre until August every year” Rockies.
Their comeuppance is due.

+1
Apparently their fans find it exciting. I would be mad that they couldn’t seem to put in a full year’s effort.
Sam Jethroe - September 19, 2010
Well...
I don’t think it’s an effort thing, especially this year. They were decimated by injuries, and have only recently been at full strength. The Rockies were a preseason favorite for many — Their recent hot streak seems more like what they are supposed to be doing with a midseason drop in there where they were battling the injury bug.

Braves Must Win the Series with the Phillies
Down by 3, the pressure is on the Braves and with Philly lining up their 3 best pitchers it will be a tough hill to climb. The Braves can’t win the Division by sweeping this series but they could (all but) lose it if they get swept.
