Ah, a series win. It feels good to get one again, doesn't it? It's too bad that we can't fully celebrate it due to Kris Medlen's elbow injury. Yes, the Braves probably could have swept the Mets if they had hit a bit better with runners in scoring position. But taking two out of three from the Mets should always be satisfying, especially when it's done without Martin Prado and despite Heyward having a bad series.
In case you missed the games, here are the links to the Talking Chop recaps and the FanGraphs pages for each:

Buster who? Brian McCann is EN FUEGO right now
Zeus12888 - August 5, 2010
Es la verdad.
And I would add that Mr. McCann es muy caliente.

Did you mean Mrs? Or else you’re being repetitive, sir.

Chipper...
Was my MVP…Yes, B-Mac had some huge hits/stats, too, but he’s the NL All Star MVP…He’s only performing at his normal clip…
Could Chipper be finally turning it around in the power department? He’s been hitting very well since his psuedo retirement talk a month or so ago (too lazy/busy with work to find splits to back up this claim), but 2 HRs in 3 games is nice…
If he can turn it on, watch out!
Jman781 - August 5, 2010
It never gets old to see Chipper tear the Mets a new one.

When I first saw that bat boy...
I thought he was Jordan Schafer. Hah!
Little Lady - August 5, 2010
That's what I thought, too.
Maybe since he’s on the DL he’s hanging out at the Ted while rehabbing.
Jacob Peterson - August 5, 2010
That’s what I thought too! Jordan Schafer always has his mouth open. lol
Sparhawk - August 5, 2010
That's what she said!

compared to games 1 & 2
game 3 was a joy to watch (except for Meds going down). Here’s hoping that the bats are starting to heat up for the Braves.

I'm a little worried about Heyward
Ok, maybe worried isn’t the right word. It’s frustrating to see him continueing to try to pull that outside pitch either to the second baseman or the shortstop (where Jose Reyes had him perfectly played). I know he’s is just a rookie and I’ll probably be called a troll for this but it’s very frustrating.
bravesforever16 - August 5, 2010
I think the thumb is still bothering him.
fylr71 - August 5, 2010
And have absolutely no evidence to support that belief.
Guy has one bad series = O NOES GIZE SOMTHIN MUS BE RONG!!
He’s been killin’ it on the whole since the All-Star break.

You mean other than the medical fact that bone bruises require longer healing times?
UMDBHIK - August 5, 2010
I haven’t looked in on today’s game yet, but he had six doubles in the past six games prior to tonite.
Even if it’s bothering him, it’s not bothering him to any great extent and certainly not anywhere nearly as bad as it was prior to his DL stint.

he has gone through more mini slumps this year than i have ever seen
BUT then he pulls out of it on fire, then takes a rough series then has 3 great ones….
He’ll be just fine.

Is Melk Man
throwing up the “NWO” sign from WCW?
Sir Veza - August 5, 2010
Bat boy says:
“You’re lookin mighty fine in them there pants, Melky.”
UMDBHIK - August 5, 2010
I bet Melky is doing is best Chipper impression.
And the bat boy probably is burping.

ah, series win.
You said it perfect. It was great seeing us get back on the winning foot despite Heyward having a bad series, Prado’s injury, and wherever Glaus may be, and now the recent injury of Medlen. Mac and Chipper had a great series, and I hope Troy can return to normal becuase then the middle of the order will pose a very tough threat.
Braves24 - August 5, 2010
Chipper always looks so cool rounding the bases, haha
