Gwinnett 3, Scranton-Wilkes Barre 7
Remember when JoJo Reyes wasn't very good in the Majors, but we could say, "Well, at least he dominates AAA"? Yeah, those were nice times. Former Brave Reid Gorecki had 2 hits in the game, including his 1st homer of the season.
Mississippi 2, West Tennessee 12
Concepcion Rodriguez picks up a pair of doubles in his first game since May 19th, but the pitching staff, aside from Ryne Reynoso, can't keep the Diamond Jaxx off the board. Tommy Palica failed to record an out in the 5th inning, giving up 2 of Erik Cordier's runs before being replaced by Michael Broadway, who allowed all 3 of Palica's runners to score.
Myrtle Beach 4, Salem 5
Mike Jones had a good series against his former team, going 5-16 with 3 RBI in the four game set. Luis Avilan throws up a pair of perfect innings tonight and he's been great for the Pelicans, throwing 8.2 scoreless innings over 5 appearances, allowing just 4 baserunners, all on walks.
Rome 2, Charleston 4
Myke Jones continues to hit most everything thrown his way. Of course, he continues to pile up errors, but if he's learning from them that could actually end up being a good thing. Robinson Lopez had a short, and fairly ineffecitve outing. Andrew Wilson came in after him and had his best apperance of the season. The 22 year old righthander out of Liberty has been good in 14.1 relief innings for Rome, putting up a 3.14 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP.

With the going FA rate for mediocre left-handed relievers, it’s nice seeing guys like Dunn, Venters, and now Avilan in the system.

i was thinking about that earlier
I wonder if we will see EoF traded and Dunn promoted if Venters keeps this up.

It'd be a tough call to make in the middle of a race...
after the season I can see the move, but as of right now, it’d be hard to justify moving your most reliable loogy when you are pushing for the playoffs.

Still so strange that Scranton Wilkes-Barre is a farm team for the Yanks now.
I used to live up there, and it was the Red Barons (Phillies Farm team)

also, AJC’’s Schultz (who I don’t think is particularly good, generally) has a major piece up on Jordan.
