If the name of the game is winning series, then the Braves have made a habit out of that. The team has won or tied the last 12 series in a row, dating back to the second week of May. That good and consistent play has not gone unnoticed by the fans, as the Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll essentially held steady for the third straight week.
The poll had ascended to 82% confidence two weeks ago, then dropped slightly to 80%, but rebounded again this week back to 82%. This means the fan confidence has essentially held stead for the past two weeks. We could also look at it as a flattening out, perhaps the reaching of a ceiling of sorts.
If the confidence level is to go any higher, I believe the Braves will need to put some distance between them and the second place team in the NL East. If that occurs, then the fans will likely have more confidence in the team. As it stands now, though, this is the most prolonged era of fan confidence in the past two years, since the poll began. That says something about the quality baseball the Braves are currently playing.

A solid weekend....
…should help the confidence poll I think. After taking 2 outta 3 from the best team in baseball, if the Braves can put together another series victory (or sweep if we can beat Greinke), I don’t see why confidence shouldn’t increase. Hell, I’m increasing my vote from a 9 to a 17 if KK can win this weekend..haha

KK
is pitching against Kyle Davies….

If we can't win that one...
he should be appeased with beheading a live chicken, or perhaps one player of his choice.

I CHOOSE YOU DEREK LOWE
YOU ARE HOGGING THE HIGH ERA WINZ
hmmm i wonder what the japanese word for hogginG is?

Sweet capital letter brah.
DogDaysofSummer - June 18, 2010
A Derek Lowe win ain't what it used to be.
In his last five wins, he’s given up no more then 2 runs. In three of those wins, he only gave up one run. Lowe has earned his wins lately.

I agree

Old gray mare she ain't what she used to be

The Braves will definitely put some distance between them and the rest of the NL East this weekend.
Marlins/Rays
Mets/Yankees
Phillies/Twins
Nationals/White Sox
Braves face Bannister/Greinke/Davies this weekend while we throw Lowe/Medlen/Kawakami. I like our chances.
TonyAlmeyda - June 18, 2010
I’m nervous about Grienke as he’s starting to come around, and one always has to be nervous when KK starts…
HansonManCrush - June 18, 2010 via mobile
Personally..
..I’m not even as worried about who KC is pitching. I’m more worried about who we are pitching (except Medlen honestly) against a very good hitting Royals team. Why can’t Hanson and Huddy throw this series too?….haha.
bashby20sh - June 18, 2010
They really should just go to a six man rotation… Hudson, Hanson, Medlen, repeat haha
HansonManCrush - June 18, 2010 via mobile
They may hit for a very high average, second in the MLB, but they are middle of the pack in every other catagory like OBP, SLG, and more importantly runs scored. They aren’t awful but ‘very good’ is a bit much.

Billy Butler rakes...
and Callapso ain’t bad. But other than Butler, there lineup isn’t very scary.

Raynel Pinto
Can someone find out why the Marlins dfa’d Pinto ??? His era was less than 3….He’s a pretty good lefty reliever. Maybe we could trade Chavez for him…………..hmmmmmm
ggotch - June 18, 2010
From what I've read, his era was good like Jeff Bennett last year
and shouldn’t be trusted
Mr. Sanchez - June 18, 2010
Should be another good week.
The Braves can’t let up against the Royals. One of the reasons I voted a nine on this one is Derek Lowes recent performance. Excluding his game against the dbacks, Lowe is 4-2, with a 2.45 ERA over his last six starts. Hope to see him mow down KC tonight. Go Braves!
