Gwinnett 6, Durham 13
None of the Braves pitchers could keep the Bulls from scoring today and their top three did basically what our top four did yesterday going 10-14 with 5 XBH (Matt Joyce went 5-5 with 3 2B). Freddie Freeman hasn't been getting bunches of hits this week but at least he has been getting some doubles (though HRs should be nice). Jordan Schafer spent more time on base today than he has in the last 10 games.
Chattanooga 5, Mississippi 4
Mike Minor had his second straight rough outing (though only two of the runs were earned) when he gave up 5 runs in the 2nd inning. You can read more about Minor in tomorrow's Hotsheet. Also appearing on the Hotsheet tomorrow will be Cody Johnson who had his first multi-hit game since... well it has been a while, just trust me on that. Despite Minor putting the team at a 5 runs disadvantage the Braves bullpen came on and pitched 6 hitless innings while striking out 8. unfortunately the offense didn't have quite enough to come back from the deficit.
Myrtle Beach 2, Kinston 10
I am not real sure what happened to JJ Hoover in this game and I am wondering if he exited from just pitching terribly or maybe something was bothering him and caused him to pitch poorly and leave early. He doesn't have any injury history that I am aware of but if anyone was there please let us know if you heard anything. Myke Jones continues to hit the ball even after his promotion and you can be sure he will make an appearance on tomorrow's Hotsheet! Also this game produced a great double play: 4-6-3 or Travis Jones-Myke Jones-Mike Jones. Fantastic.
Rome - Off
DSL Blue Jay 8, DSL Braves 7 - 10 Innings
There wasn't really anything else worth noting here as some of the other top performers on the team had off days.

Rough Night
for pitching prospects. Hoover and Minor roughed up, ouch. Oh well, need to get back to about three weeks ago when everyone was dominating.

yeah Teheran and Delgado need to have something special this week if we want to keep our run of guys on the BA Hotsheet

Salcedo
Gonna say it again can’t wait till he’s stateside! Love the speed and patience he’s showing so far.

yeah hes destroying the DSL right now. Glad we got him.
Braves Biceps - June 14, 2010
Whoa
He’s not destroying the DSL by no means but I would rather see what he can do against better comp.

myke jones is the one to keep an eye on. He was our early draft pick last year. Good speed, shortstop. Travis jones showed good pop in myrtle beach a while back, but hasn’t really done much since. I don’t really know who mike jones is.

Mike Jones is a recent signing...
I think when Gerry Rodriguez, Yoel Campusano, etc were suspended was when we brought him in. Spent 5 years in the Red Sox system before this year.
Travis Jones is a 2B, formerly from South Carolina. Drafted a couple years ago, struggled in Miss so he’s back in Myrtle. Thick, kind of like Marcus Giles I guess.
Myke Jones was a SS drafted out of Miami Dade CC last year. Possible leadoff type, and the one who’s a legit prospect between the 3.

Not sure if you're serious but in case you are
Myke Jones is Mycal, the shortstop we took last year in the fourth, out of college. He was a tad old for Rome, but it’s good to see him going at Myrtle Beach. He’ll never hit for true power, but the hope is that he could have maybe double-digit pop in the bigs and hit for a good average/OBP with speed.
Mike Jones is a 24 (now 25, Happy Birthday!) year old first baseman we signed during the season to serve as an extra bat for an offense-starved Myrtle team. Decent hitter, but not a true prospect.
Travis Jones is a second baseman we took a few years ago in like the 9th round. Not a lot of size but some decent speed. Not a very exciting prospect.
As Telemakhos said, the interesting one is Myke Jones.
