While we're all celebrating the Braves being back in 1st place, there's still a lot of work left to be done. One of those things is to get Jason Heyward, Martin Prado, Brian McCann and Co. to the All Star Game. About a month ago, Gondeee asked for everyone on TC to vote. You might have, but did you vote the 25 times? And if you did vote the 25 times, do you have another e-mail address you could use to vote 25 more times? You need to!
I'm not asking you to vote only for Braves players -- in all honesty, that's a bit silly -- but I am asking you to at least vote for Heyward, Prado and McCann. It'll be downright wrong if Jason and Marteeen don't make it and BMac has just as good of a shot as anybody. Heck, even Troy Glaus! Last I checked he wasn't even in the top-5 in 1B voting, but there's always a chance he sneaks up the leader board and gets in as an alternate or injury replacement.
YOU can help make this happen. You might think, "Oh, just 25 votes won't matter. Thousands of votes are cast every day" but you're wrong. There's still a ton of time left and our Braves deserve to make the ASG in July. Your votes will only help them get closer to Los Angeles.
And if you need just a little more convincing, ask yourself this, "Do I really wanna watch the Mid-Summer Classic with a bunch of ugly red hats with 'P's on them, or do I wanna see those beautiful red and blue caps with the 'A' on it?" I certainly know which one I'd rather see.
Again, click HERE to vote. There should be a big link at the top of the page or you can just scroll down the page and you'll see the icon to vote. It only takes a few seconds to make your selections. It would be awesome to see Heyward, Prado and McCann at the Game in a month. Let's make it happen.

OK. I was lazy last time. I’ll do it this time.
McCann and McWill - May 31, 2010
The difference in time between this post and the last post is how it takes to vote 25 times. So quit reading this and go vote.

Wait, isn’t that an Untouchables line?
J-Freak - May 31, 2010
Last month.....
Utley had my vote for 2B, now I am leaning toward Prado. Heyward still comes up 4th in my OF vote behind Ethier, Braun, and Werth. McCann is way behind at C. I would have to put Barajas, Olivo, and Rodriguez ahead of him. Of course, I still won’t cast my one and only vote until the end of June.
homerlanding - May 31, 2010
kelly johnson has been the best 2B so far this year.
kbertling353 - May 31, 2010
Power Yes
But the batting average is killing him
homerlanding - May 31, 2010
.950 OPS vs. .830 OPS disagrees
Believe me, I love Prado, but I think it’s pretty apparent KJ has been better so far.
kbertling353 - May 31, 2010
.325 AVG vs. .270 AVG and 69 H vs 47 H also disagrees with you, not to mention that Prado is ahead of Johnson in RBIs, has less strikeouts
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
70 Hits
BRaves1 - May 31, 2010
yeah, my bad didn't count todays game
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
batting average and hits are so different…
kbertling353 - May 31, 2010
Then add fielding (Prado 4.6 UZR/150 vs. KJ’s -9.7) and the fact that Prado’s hitting and OBA are regularly setting the table for the guys behind him. In fact, this recent hot streak is directly tied to the change in batting order that put him at leadoff.
It’s true that KJ’s hot start has fueled whatever offense the DBacks possess, but Prado’s hitting makes the Braves a first-place club. I can make a case for either (and in my dreams, KJ is still on the club as our Leftfielder), but my arg is that Prado sets up the rest of the team.
carpengui - May 31, 2010
Can’t really draw fielding conclusions from 1/4 season of data (eq. of 1/12 of a season of hitting). Both are below average defensively on average.
Both have been GREAT this year, but I’m trying hard to be objective here. KJ is ahead for me.

Also doesn't help when these numbers appear to be works of fiction.
Bronn - May 31, 2010
How about you stop being a douche and support the guy that plays for your team.
Cracker! - June 1, 2010
Someone's got a bug up their butt
Just because a player on your team is good, or even really good, doesn’t mean he necessarily deserves to start on an all-star team. I love Prado, but just in case the Braves made the World Series, I’m going to vote on the absolute best players and hope they win the ASG. Loyalty is putting my team’s best interests first.
Bronn - June 1, 2010
Oh, look at this righteous fellow
This is a rehash of a previous thread where I said
So, stop the nonsense, and maybe, just maybe, realize that the emotional lift that some of our players would receive for the all star nod may actually have a positive effect on their confidence and performance in a Braves uniform from here on out.
Or you can vote in Rod Barajas over McCann, because you’ll feel all good on the inside about it. Give me a break.
Cracker! - June 1, 2010
I’m not the one calling anyone a “douche” because they honestly want to vote for the best players.
Bronn - June 1, 2010
If a supposed Braves fan really wanted to argue about choosing Kelly Johnson over Martin Prado, because they think Kelly will do better in the All-Star game, then they are a doucher. That’s the context of my comment, not that they want to vote for the best players….it’s that when there is such a close race, shouldn’t the edge go to your hometown club?
I guess I’m just not as righteous as you and he.
Cracker! - June 2, 2010
I still think Heyward is the 2nd best OF
Andre Eithier is better than him, but the other two I don’t think so:
10 HR vs. 9 HR and 8HR, 38 RBIs vs. 33RBIs and 32 RBIs, 1.017 OPS vs. .947 and 9.14, 29 BB vs. 20 BB and 19 BB, Jason Heyward leads them in all of those categories, also he is better in AVG. than Werth, but not Braun,
so yeah, I think Heyward is the 2nd best OF in the NL
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
Tough to vote in Ethier
With all the time he has missed. He’s part of the reason I’m still holding off on voting. I want to see if he’s still deserving of a spot after the injury, or if the injury continues to hamper him now that he’s back. I’ll give it two more weeks before I submit my ballot.
Bronn - May 31, 2010
Probably shouldn’t use an opportunity stat like RBI to make that argument. I’d bet good money that if the Phuckers had not collectively swooned over the past week Werth could easily be even or possibly ahead of J-Hey in that department. RBI numbers are essentially worthless for everything except wooing MVP voters. That OPS number keys the whole thing for him, though. He’s a better all-around hitter than any other challenger in the NL right now. Even better than Ethier.
J-Freak - May 31, 2010
I have access to at least 10 different email addresses...
So…. I’ll pledge to throw in at least 100 votes… and if I really get bored, I could be good for the entire 250. For those who wanna try this themselves, I would suggest clearing the cookies in between each “session”, and changning other sublties like the secondary favorite team and your birthdate.

prado over 500,000 votes out of first Jimmy Rollins leads for shortstops. Huge popularity contest
BRaves1 - May 31, 2010
In a perfect world, Bobby, Prado, Heyward, and McCann would all go.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - May 31, 2010
In a perfect world.....
Wagner and Hudson would go too.
homerlanding - June 1, 2010
Actually it'd be Moylan and Hudson.
Apart from that 3 run debacle last night, Moylan has been lights out. Although part of me says that no one should wish that their pitchers DON’T get in and just get the extra rest.

KJ does not deserve to start over Prado.
Also, since no one else takes this seriously, I’m being sure to vote only for junk outfielders for the other 2 spots outside of Heyward so I don’t bump the vote count for his competitors.
For example, my last vote was Heyward – Morgan – Francoeur (lol)

kbertling353 - May 31, 2010
I’d be a little leary of doing even a “throw-in” vote for anybody on a New York team… since ML Baseball has turned the entire process into a joke, they are partisan enough (and have enough volume) to vote in anybody they want.
Heck, the Yankee fans alone are a big enough group to vote Daniel Murphy as starting NL first baseman, if they so chose to make it happen!

In this economy...
I’m really glad the Marlins are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to build a stadium that won’t draw more than 15,000 a night after the first few months. Just get baseball out of Florida. They love their college football and nothing else.
Scott Coleman - May 31, 2010
correction
the rednecks in the North Florida panhandle love their college football
The south Florida crowd doesn’t even care about that – see, eg, Miami Hurricanes winning five nat’l titles and playing in front of a 2/3 empty Orange Bowl every week.
DCP916 - June 1, 2010
I want the best team for the nl possible. Remember, This could determine our Home field for hte World series
So.. don’t vote for KJ.
So.. don’t vote for KJ.I like: This team-
Either, Heyward, Braun, and werth in of. Pujols, B Mac, Utley, Troy Tulo… Ryan Zimmerman, in the IF….
Braves Biceps - May 31, 2010
KJ
is going to be there anyways, he just won’t be voted in to start. He will get the selection after Prado and before Uggla. He will probably play in the game as a DH.
homerlanding - June 1, 2010
You realize
the reserves won’t get named for another month and a half, right? By then, KJ will have gone through at least one KJ-esque 2-32 stretch without adding any more homers to his total…
jtw126 - June 1, 2010
He already has
He hit .245 in May with 28 Ks to only 7 RBI
ATLandUNC - June 1, 2010
Hitting .245 isn't bad enough.
That’s just the tip of the “WHAT HAPPENED TO GOOD KJ” iceberg.
DogDaysofSummer - June 1, 2010
You realize
he’s already had that stretch and is starting to hit again. His BA went down below .260 and has returned to.270 in the past week.
homerlanding - June 1, 2010
Just the tip of the iceberg. He has much worse streaks in him.
FitzFan - June 1, 2010
And speaking of NL All Star pitchers...
Ubaldo is gonna make the AL look silly. The guy is so filthy its not even funny. And i’m not even mad that he no-hit us.
Scott Coleman - May 31, 2010
we got no-no by the best pitcher
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
It wasn't a no-NO...
We did have plenty of walks, get it straight….
Wren_and_Stimpy - May 31, 2010
a no-no is a no hitter, I had it straight
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
Technically, a no-no is no hits AND no walks, but whatever. It means the same thing and it’s not worth arguing about.
Scott Coleman - May 31, 2010
I’ve never heard of “no-no” only referring to a perfect game. Maybe that was the original meaning, but announcers and analysts definitely use “no-no” to refer to “everyday” no-hitters.
J-Turn14 - June 1, 2010
That's wrong..
No-No = No Hitter
Perfect Game = No hits and no walks
Mighty Healthy - June 1, 2010
Yep
No-No = No hits no runs.
Perfect game = Nothing in the box score. Not even an error.
kreese555 - June 1, 2010
That's just wrong
No-no is just slang for a no-hitter. I don’t know where you guys are getting this from. Ubaldo threw a no-no.
Jacob Peterson - June 1, 2010
No-no means “No hits and No” something else, and it has to be runs. At least that’s what I’ve always known. And, I mean, in the rare event that the pitcher walks the bases loaded and then an error scores a run, or say he walks 4 in a row to score a run, that wouldn’t be a “no-no” in my book, but a no hitter none-the-less…my head hurts.
kreese555 - June 1, 2010
and furthermore
given those 2 scenarios, has anyone ever pitched a no-hitter and lost 1-0? that would suck!
kreese555 - June 1, 2010
Yes.
walks hurt too.
Mr. Sanchez - June 1, 2010
Actually
errors dont count against a perfect game.
Tim Goad - June 1, 2010
Mostly wrong.
Errors don’t count only in an instance where the player doesnt reach base….and the only instance I can think of where that would happen is where a foul ball is dropped.
DogDaysofSummer - June 1, 2010
Well
I didnt watch the Halladay perfect but the Phillies def had an error posted on the box score that ESPN showed.
Tim Goad - June 1, 2010
no
the marlins had the error. halladay’s perfect game did not include any errors by philly fielders. kreese and dogdays are correct.
atl192485 - June 1, 2010
I always skip the AL Ballot...
1B: King Albert
2B: Marteeen
SS: Sir Slacks-a-Lot
3B: Zimmerman
C: Heap
LF: Braun
CF: McCutchen
RF: J-Hey
Wren_and_Stimpy - May 31, 2010
McCutchen? I dont think he is going to be starting
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
I thought he played 2nd base anyway?
bpk228480 - May 31, 2010
I know, he just rockets his ass off to catch all the balls in the outfield, also his hair helps him fly
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
Why won't McCutchen start?
Other than Matt Kemp I cannot think of another NL CF who has put up comparable numbers.
Yes, I could vote for Ethier, or Werth, or Manny, or whoever, but I wanted to vote for a legimate RF, CF, and LF – not three corner outfielders.
Wren_and_Stimpy - May 31, 2010
ohh ok, didn't know about that
Kobe:The Legend - May 31, 2010
Why won't he start?
Because he won’t finish in the top-3 in OF voting. It’s a stupid rule, but the top-3 always get the start.
Scott Coleman - May 31, 2010
Oh, I know what's stacked against him...
but he DESERVES to start, and if enough fans realize that, hopefully he’ll get enough votes.
Wren_and_Stimpy - May 31, 2010
He won't start
but I voted for him.
Jacob Peterson - June 1, 2010
He's a great player
But UZR doesn’t think he’s exceptionally talented on defense with the data it has to date. Counting last year and this year, it’s still only about a full season’s worth of data (which isn’t quite enough) but it has him slightly below average. So instead of voting for him, I’ll give my votes to Jayson Werth who’s clearly a better hitter, and good enough to play CF. Then I’ll surround him with Heyward and probably Willingham.
Bronn - June 1, 2010
No need
to vote him in, he is a lock to make the team.I would put his chances of being an all-star higher than any other player in the majors.
homerlanding - June 1, 2010
Another reason that UZR is BS perhaps.
FitzFan - June 1, 2010
Not quite.
Smoltz's Beard - June 1, 2010
MLB needs to add more stats to its “compare stats” button when voting for allstars….RBI, AVG., HRs, SB….its not like we are voting for MVP’s or something
bpk228480 - May 31, 2010
Agreed
That is the lamest stat package in history. At least do OBP/SLG.

kreese555 - June 1, 2010
In Hinske We Trust
What do you guys think about Eric as a write-in outfielder? I always try to think of someone to put in the write-in spot, and despite his limited use, relative to other outfielders, he’s been extremely productive in his ABs. I know he won’t make it, but I hate to waste his 1.014 OPS, cause that won’t last.
award6 - June 1, 2010
Eirc Hinske
He is earning a spot up there with Charles Thomas in my favorite Braves list. Chucky T only appeared in 83 games for us, but I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed watching any player more than him. He was just the role player that could and in such a short time etched a permanent spot on my Braves memory. Hinske is somewhat like that, but he may never be Chucky T.

Heyward
Chipper (not really, but what the Hell)
Glaus
McCann
I’d love to see Heyward make it as a starter as a rookie…and McCann needs to be a starter for a change. I think Prado, Heyward and McCann will make it as reserves anyway, but we need a starter. The Phillies currently have WAY too many starters for the NL….that’s sad.

I have voted 200 times for Heyward Prado Mccann and Co.!! I used my two emails, my grilfriend’s and some from my family!. We really need to get al least Prado and Heyward in there!!
Is there a chance Heyward gets invited to the Home Run Derby?? With those huge shots he’s been launching I think he could have a shot! Heck I think he wins it if he goes!
roc2606 - June 1, 2010
i don't like the idea of heyward participating in the HR derby
especially if heyward plays in the AS game. also, there have been a few players in the past few years that have said participating in the HR derby screws up your swing. while the jury’s still out on that, i’d rather have heyward hit two jacks in the AS game, helping the NL thump the AL, then get some rest over the break
atl192485 - June 1, 2010
Uff didnt know that!
No way I want him going if its going to mess his swing in any way!.
roc2606 - June 1, 2010
oh come on
Like the mighty Heyward would let anything so puny as a little HR Derby mess up his swing. The only reason he should sit out is to give the other players a chance to win.
Jacob Peterson - June 1, 2010
I would love if Heyward was in the HR Derby. I'd watch for that alone!

Cracker! - June 1, 2010
fake email addresses + voting more than 25 times
be careful. the terms and conditions say they can disqualify votes for bad emails, but i’m no expert on if they can determine if emails are good/bad and mlb could just be bluffing.
i’ve also found you can vote using the same email 25 times every day. hopefully they won’t DQ my votes

Or, you can just enter in an email address of a friend/relative/any existing email address you may know. If you are worried about that. I would seriously doubt they are retroactively dq’ing votes.
Cracker! - June 1, 2010
they send a thank you email after you vote. if it gets returned then (maybe) they discount those votes
nuftjedi - June 1, 2010
I Voted...
A few times. I just went with an all Braves NL. I was just really pissed when ESPN showed the leading vote getters and it was all P’s and STL’s. Dang them.
XBEARDX - June 1, 2010
But St. Louis has the best fanbase in baseball!
They would never tarnish the game by voting for only their players!
DogDaysofSummer - June 1, 2010
Hahahaha Skip Schumaker is in 5th place in 2nd baseman voting.
Poor Brandon Phillips.
DogDaysofSummer - June 1, 2010

Bobby should manage. I hope Charlie gets ejected in like the 2nd so Bobby could take his place.
MBL1 - June 1, 2010 via mobile
can you imagine bobby cox getting ejected from the all-star game?
personally, i think it would be awesome as a last hurrah in the last all-star game he’s participating in.
atl192485 - June 1, 2010
I think he should do it on purpose
Mr. Sanchez - June 1, 2010
Bump this.
Bronn - June 1, 2010
I think that would be awesome
MBL1 - June 1, 2010
Can you imagine Bobby mismanaging the bullpen and pissing off every NL manager?
I’m just kidding. I’d love to see them give Bobby the honor of being there one last time.

“Bring in Moylan. He’s not here? Saito it is”
bpk228480 - June 1, 2010
“Oh your Matt Capps? How about you go out there and throw 40 pitches. That’s the Braves way.”
DogDaysofSummer - June 1, 2010
LOL
Smoltz's Beard - June 1, 2010
I wrote in for Hinske.
Can you just vote for one person if you wanted too? I haven’t voted in years, but I really just want to vote for Heyward and Prado and just those two over and over and over.
Sparhawk - June 1, 2010
yep, you only have to vote for who you want

Did my part
proud stuffer of the ballot box.
adc62 - June 1, 2010
Enough time has passed, so i’ve done my part. Even mixed in a few votes for Glausosaur. Second base was roughly 75% Prado, 25% Kelly. Every other position was for Phillies.

Who has two thumbs and turned 21 today?
Tim Goad - June 1, 2010
Yay! happy birfday!
MBL1 - June 1, 2010 via mobile
I’d buy you a drink, but I’ve got 16 days to go myself…
J-Freak - June 1, 2010
I’m up to 250 so far. Let’s keep it going!
jdmarine - June 1, 2010 via mobile
Does this trick work?
I just voted all 25 times with three different email addresses for Glaus, Prado, Mac, Heyward. I also wrote in Jason Heyward as an outfielder… If its a computer system it might count him twice right?!!
CalBravesFan - June 1, 2010
Did anyone think
that just because it doesnt tell you, doesnt mean its not discarding all these fake email votes?
Tim Goad - June 1, 2010
Some of us have multiple real email addresses
personal, school, work,etc…
CalBravesFan - June 1, 2010
yep.
And legitimate fake e-mail addresses too.
Sparhawk - June 1, 2010
Any students in here
Do it during class! I voted 75 times today in the span of like 20 or 30 minutes
CalBravesFan - June 1, 2010
I’ve voted about 10 times so far, all Braves. That’s just how I roll.
