Home Opener

Anyone going to the home opener that can send me a few of the magnets. I’m not going to make it to the stadium this year.

Sure thing!

Email me your mailing address and I will try my best…

Oh hell ya!

It says this game is the free game of the day on my MLB At Bat app. Nice!!!

Do you know if they have that for the Droid? I’m about to upgrade on Monday.

I think so

But not positive. I have it on my iPhone and love it.

won’t be here long today, but we’ll get ’er started.

Fired Up!
Go Braves!
I do believe it will be a great, great year.

Vizquel, Beckham, Kotsya due up first for the ChiSox. Huddy pitching.

Underway… strike one.

Ball… foul … ball

Single to RF.

i hate these uniforms

BECKHAM. Inside – almost hit him.
High for ball two.
Bouncer… off of Huddy’s glove.. everybody safe.

Our friend Mark KOTSAY. HItting .400 this spring.
Strike swinging (low).
fouled off his leg.
On the corner for a called ball.

Grounder to short. 6-3.

KONERKO.
Ball low.
Strike right where Kotsay’s ball was.
curve outside.
check swing… strike?? okay by me.
fouled – still 2-2.
Grounder to short – off Esco’s glove… throw high… he’s safe.

Um. What channel is this supposed to be on?

Fox reality

Weird. My Fox Sports – South channel decided to become Fox Sports Tennessee and air hockey right now. Lame

Same here, duh

Andruw… grounout to chipper.

I have Fox Sports South.

Esco has been struggling since he hurt his back.
Gosh I hope

he’s allright

BOTTOM FIRST; 0-1 Sox

MELKY: 0-1… ball
John Danks pitching.
Reaches out and pokes a single to center.

PRADO
Melky may have outright won the CF spot.
2-0 count. line drive….

C JONES
ground foul – batting righty.
strike called. ball low. Repeat. Ground foul.
Gounder to third — knocked down — Chipper OUT at first.

RUNNERS ADVANCE – 2ND and 3RD. ONE OUT.

GLAUS.
Ball…. fouled back. Ball low.
Fooled on outside pitch… strike two.
Inside

Fouled… hitting .392 for Spring.
GOUNDOUT TO SHORT. MELKY SCORES.

0-1 to ESCOBAR.
Ball… Cued down 1B line… appeared to hit foul line and bounce fair.
grabbed by 1Bman for THIRD OUT.
END INNING.

SINGLE for some White Socker.

  1. batting…. Huddy real concerned about #23 on 1B.

Carpengui—I really appreciate what you’re doing with these new PBP graphics. It makes for very nice one-stop shopping for catching up on what’s happened or for following the action.

My pleasure – just tryin’ out some new stuff… a little concerned on refresh speeds with things that are averaging 10K each, though!

Josh KROEGER batting… 0-1.
SINGLE.
BUT Teahan THROWN OUT AT THIRD by MELKY.

Does anyone think at this point Melky doesn’t start Monday?

Kroeger advance to 2nd on the throw. 1 OUT.
LUCY up.

Bouncer to Huddy… off his glove… SAFE.
Scoring might be tough on that… I say E1.

1 OUT – RUNNERS FIRST & SECOND.
Ocho-cinko batting.

(Jordan Danks – brother of the pitcher).
1-2 count.

Thanks … in that case…

(there’s a couple of bulbs out in the scoreboard)

oooohhhhh… that should have been strike threeeeee.

Full count.
WALK…. They are LOADED with 1 out.

Vizquel up… 58 years old, I think…
strike one. ball outside.

He turned 59 last Wednesday

Ripped…. JUST foul…. I thought it was a Granny…. maybe foul by a foot off RF pole.

SINGLE – Scores one.
BALL GETS AWAY – SECOND RUN SCORES….
That will probably be an error on Melky as his ball hit the side of the mound.

Catching up…. groundout.
Runners advance to 2nd and 3rd. TWO DOWN.

Can someone please

Go back to Florida and get the Braves

Yeah, pitching and defense had been better.

Well, Ross certainly can’t catch today.

omg

jesus effing christ, i hope the braves are just getting the bad out of their system

KOTSAY. Ball low. Ball 2.
SINGLE TO CENTER.
Scores BOTH Runners…
Ball gets away from Catcher Ross… E2…. Runner goes to 2nd.

Konerko now…
1-1 Grounded to left side. Chipper cuts off Esco and throws him OUT.
END OF INNING.

5 runs, dunno about hits, but 3 ERRORS.

And as expected, I gotta run…. and not because of the sinking ship!! One last post…
(Sorry – 4 runs scored in the 2nd; 5 total)

Anybody know where the real Braves are?
We left them in FL, Ugh

Ross can’t throw today either— stolen base. but Braves out of it with a strikeout. No runs, finally.

On Fox SportsSouth, Wren is in the pressbox, giving interview.

was lauding Heyward, his maturity and makeup.

Brooks Conrad prov ides more power and switchhits – major factors in making team.

On my FSS,

I have Fight Zone, ugh….

So you really rich?

Just an April Fools Joke,

but doing ok without the lottery.

how about a loan anyway?

I have a feeling you are doing pretty well for yourself also :)

peaks and valleys. I been rich and I been poor. neither one for very long.

Matt Young and Conrad Brooks in defensively.
Nice K by Hudson.

Prado interview: “Hey, I got fired up.”
“Really happy to play for Bobby Cox every day.”

Thanks for giving us some insight of what is being said.

very humble, sweet guy.

So who’s the team MVP this year?

That's a difficult ? at this point,

I know many would say Heyward, but I’m not putting those kind of expectations on the kid.

Could be one of the pitchers. Hudson might have a Cy kinda year. Or JJ. Or Hanson.
My other choice is Chipper.

Mac is on fire now, and if that last he could be in the running. I also am impressed with Glaus.

I think we have a lot of talent on the team this year. It’s gonna be fun to watch.

I am extremely fired up and thinking championship.

as am I.....

FSS advertises they’re going to air Braves games every Sunday this season.

Yunel says he’s 100% ready to go.
I say he’s ginna have a big year.

I hope so too

Is it just me or has he just not looked the same since the back injury?

dp this AB though. classic bouncing ball. 643.

What's the score and inning?

Sox up 5-1. Top of 5th.

Hicks in at SS bobbles groundball. 5th error for Braves.

Now 6-1.

Now 7-1.

Now, I'm happy, I'm not watching!
I'm gonna take a wild guess

And say none of the Braves players really wanna be playing today.

Geez, coming home to the wife and kids has killed them :)
Haha

Maybe they’re just a little tired from getting some extra work in, if you get what I’m saying

Exactly, happy you caught my drift :)

JoJo walks bases loaded.

2B. 3 RUNS SCORED. 10-1.

Why in God's green earth does Jo-Jo make the team?!?
Our BP is my only ? for the season.

Bobby – they said – wanters Venters stretched out starting and ready to come up if needed.

anothe 2B. 11-1.

Sox bat around on JoJo. WP runner to 3d.
Diaz misses fly foul down the line. Should have had it.
1B. 12-1.

Wow … meltdown.

Thank God, it's just ST!

Chipper interview, laughing ruefully— “we checked out last night.” “we’re looking forward to Monday.”

So, Braves predictions anyone?

90-72
Wild Card Champs
3 games back of Philly
MVP: BMac
Cy Young: Hanson
ROY: Heyward
Biggest Surprise: Hinske
Biggest disappointment: McLouth
Player on our team that isn’t now: Carl Crawford

You really think we'll

pick up Crawford?

Yes

Because I’m not sold on McLouth at all. He’s been frequently injured his whole career and if it wasn’t for one great season, he’d be an average baseball player.

I predict the Braves win the World Series and send Bobby out a winner.

Game 7 of the WS. Tied in the bottom of the 9th. Chipper on 2nd. Heyward lines one to LF. Chipper turns 3rd and beats the throbygone by a fingernail. Heyward and Chipper get mobbed on the field and they lift Bobby cox on their shoulders while being awarded the 2010 Championship.

*throw, not throwbygone or whatever the fuck my iPhone put in lol

If Henske can get about 300 ABs, he may really do some damage.

Chipper interviewing: feels good about bat. His BP has been very positive.

Needs fans to come out.

place used to be a nightmare for teams to come into. need to win and then get electricity back. Phillies reloaded and the team to beat.

and they will if the team is playing good ball, and winning games, imo

Proctor blows away 1st batter with up inside fastball. K.

Wow, what the hell happened? Did the local little league Braves show up?

JoJo gave up 6 in the 5th.
Braves have 5 errors.

I think Chipper covered it...

…the Braves checked out last night. I am just glad this is today and not next week, lol.

Freeman: HS teammate wore 22. very close won state championship. died. knows his Mom – teacher – learned a lot from her as a person. Wanted to pay respectys and give her something special to know always.

Young 2B & Brroks 3B. 12-2.

oops—heyward

yeah, whats his name. wtf.

Wishes Happy Easter.

Freddie is at the bat. 3-1 groundout.

Hicks hits ball hard. CF runs it down on the track.

Anybody a little worried

about this awful performance last 2 games?

Not really

Everyone’s pretty much just trying not to get hurt at this point.

Worry if they’re still playing poorly in a week.

No. Hell No.
You?

Nah not really

just wonderin’ what other people think

Ummm no

These guys have been in ST since mid February. They haven’t seen their families in months. And they’re playing an exibition game on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. They just don’t care at this point.

That’ll change on Monday tho.

Now that I think about it

this could be a possible World Series matchup

Only in the vaguest sense that it's an NL-AL matchup. :-p

Brooks Conrad – another sharp hit. 2 for 2.

Would like to see Freddie unload on a ball.

sharp hit up the middle. off lefty pitcher too.

12-3 after 8 innings.

Kimbrel in and throwing smoke.

I can't wait until Kimbrel and Proctor make it up to the bigs.

Our BP will rock!

84-86 sliders. 94 only call out on heater. mixing it up but control not the best, really juust missing. K, weak pop fly, 2 BBs …

Geez, everyone is having a tough two days,

another K.
ST is over in 3 more outs.

Sounds like the walks didn't hurt, that's good. Like the 2 K's.

~430 foot HR by Cleland(sp?) – about ~18 rows up to almost straight center. Bomb.

433 they say.

I didn't know he had that kind of power,

but now I do :)

love it! hope to go see a game or 5 in Larryville.

You live up there?

12-4 final score.
ST is over.

Go Braves!

Yeah baby,

Time for the regular season to begin!
