Chris Resop battled, working his way past a strike zone that was both tiny and inconsistent. He certainly pitched better than his line would indicate. Matt Young got himself above the Mendoza Line with 3 hits and Wes Timmons continues be be Gwinnet's best hitter not named Brent Clevlen. Freddie Freeman stroked a single in 4 at bats and hit the ball hard 2 other times. Craig Kimbrel dominated, hitting 97 on the gun and striking out 3 of the 4 batters he faced. But, most importantly, he didn't walk anyone.

Randy Gress drove in Donnel Linares in the bottom of the 11th for the walk off win. Alex Romero and Eric Duncan are both too good to be playing in AA and they're both doing their best to prove it. Mike Minor obviously didn't care for yodaime14 saying his stock was falling, as he shut out the Bay Bears for 7 innings. The 9 strikeouts are a great sign for a guy who's supposedly a finesse lefty, but, by that same token, the 5 walks are troubling.

Myrtle Beach 1, Winston-Salem 4

Randall Delgado puts in another good start, even though he ran out of gas in the 7th and ended up getting the loss. In 3 starts he's holding opponens to a .196 average. Jahdiel Santamaria provided all the offense for the Pelicans with his first homer of the season, which is also his first with the Braves organization since he didn't hit any last year. don't look now, but after an 0 for 3 night Adam Milligan is hitting .233 and striking out in 35% of his at bats. I wonder if excitable people who put too much stock into small sample sizes will begin to freak out. Probably not because his OPS is still .885.

Julio Teheran takes the tough luck loss in what was a solid, if not spectacular, start. Matt Kramer, typically a catcher, played first base in an effort to get his bat into the lineup for the second straight day, a move that paid off as he drove in the team's only run. Kyle Rose had a single in 4 at bats, but was also caught stealing again, his 5th of the season after being caught just 4 times in 31 attempts last season.
