I'm in the mood for a poll, and I've had this one in mind for several days. The idea is pretty simple, who do you think will play more games in 2010, Chipper Jones or Peter Moylan? So far they are neck-and-neck, each having played in four games.

I think we’ll get 135-140 games from Chipper this year. Hopefully, we won’t need to get more than 80 from Moylan

He just injured himself
testing out another injury. I don’t like his chances to reach 135. He’s averaged 125 the last 5 years while playing through a lot of pain, maybe it’s my frustration and pessimism, but you just can’t count on him to be out there 85% of the time this year on that severely broken down body. Prove me wrong Chipper, I’d love you to.

Did Chipper get hurt again last night?
I wasn’t watching when he was taken out, but I figured it was because he still isn’t 100% and the game was already over. Didn’t see anything about it on the ESPN recap of the game.
Or did I just misunderstand what you were saying?

No.
He and B-Mac were both taken out early due to it being a blow-out.
DawgB - April 13, 2010
He hurt himself before the game and played through it. He injured his back while testing out his oblique.

That was back spasms, not a real injury. Everybody has back spasms, they go away.

Well, in all fairness it is an injury, just not a serious one. But you can’t ignore that lingering back pain would have an adverse effect on performance. It’s the ease at which he gets hurt that is troublesome, and the worry of us all, not the definition of the latest health concern.

Lingering back pain is something I know very well, since I was about 25. I have back spasms almost weekly and really no longer pay that much attention to them.

Sad, but funny.

Interesting question, but I think Chipper is safe bet to play fair chunk more games than Moylan.

I think it’ll be Chipper, but it makes me sad that we can have this argument.
eaheckman10 - April 13, 2010
well in a couple of years we will have
Edward Salcedo at Short and Escobar will be playing 3rd

I’ve got money on 130 games for Chipper and 132 for Moylan…
justincredubil02 - April 13, 2010
lol
Cracker! - April 13, 2010
I don't really think this will even be close...
Peter probably maxes out at around 90 games. Chipper has played at least 109 games every year since 1995. Unless Chipper has a year-ender (shudder), there’s no way Peter can pass him.
Jacob Peterson - April 13, 2010
Dammit Chipper :(

The smart ass in me wanted to vote Moylan….but I’m gonna venture out onto the limb and say that Chipper will play more games. Bobby can’t be THAT sadistic towards Peter. :P
bravos1984 - April 13, 2010
There’s a good chance that Moylan — after being overworked last year — will pitch in fewer games than Chipper misses. The answer has to be Chipper. I’m not sure why anybody would vote for Moylan. If you think Chipper will play fewer games than Moylan, then you’ve pretty much given up all hope on the 2010 season after a whopping 7 games.
redwards95 - April 13, 2010
I think it’s more of a joke about Chipper’s inability to stay in the lineup and Peter’s inability to stay in the bullpen….at least I hope it is.

That picture was probably taken the last time he played a full season. He looks young enough. lol
bravos1984 - April 13, 2010
His high school mascot was the Braves too??
Mighty Healthy - April 13, 2010
Haha
It hasn’t been THAT bad…..for the most part. :P
bravos1984 - April 13, 2010
Chipper played a full season last year.
He just sucked in the 2nd half.
Jacob Peterson - April 13, 2010
Exactly! How soon some forget. This pool is just another ridiculous Chipper bashfest. He hasn’t played in less than 100 games on 15 freaking years. Get off the guys back.

it’s sad how serious these comments are taking this poll… but it is funny!
scorby911 - April 13, 2010
This question is funny on so many levels.
MatM - April 13, 2010
Moylan 127
Chip 123
Moylan’s arm literally falls off the socket Sunday November 14, 2010 at 7:13 PM EST and is forced to have reattachment surgery with Dr. James Andrews that Tuesday in a procedure that will forever be known as Peter Moylan surgery.
Chipper, in a show of team spirit drives Moylan to the hospital that day and suffers a significant paper cut injury while flipping through a Highlights magazine in the Family Waiting Area, forcing him to retire the following week.
UMDBHIK - April 13, 2010
Not a fair question!
It shoulld be who plays more innings.
Peter wins by 20
