Why does Melky hit a weak bouncing ground ball basically every time he’s up? Does he purposefully swing over the top?
Ideally you want to hit the ball on the screws, but otherwise, don’t you want to uppercut it at least a tiny bit for the sake of some power? I can’t remember Melky even hitting a ball in the air this season…

If it’s the Rotten Tomatoes type that go in looking for esoteric, thought-proking artwork, of course, they’re going to slam it. But if you want a relaxing flick that you can go and laugh at some raunchy gray humor, and possibly relate, than SOOML isn’t so bad.

My TV’s busy recording an episode of LIFE that I’m not watching the game. It’s not like I really need at this point, I’m just hanging out for the camaraderie.
I was looking for a pic to post about how awesome it is to finally score a run. So I google image searched, “greatest thing ever”. I have my safety filter set to off. I got some cool results.
You know, this has to put some perspective to a lot of us – we wipe the floor with the Cubs, with no empathy to how the Cubs fans feel, and less than two weeks later, it’s happening to us. Hey, at least we’re not victims to a no-hitter.
With the way things are setting up, we are going to be 10+ games back...
of the Phils one month into the season. Even with easier stretches ahead, that kind of lead is going to be very tough to make up against a team as good as Philly.
Yeah, but it sucks to feel like you are out of the division race before June. The Phils
really lucked out with their early schedule. It’s a massive advantage to get to start out playing horrible teams so that you have plenty of time to get into a rhythm.
Just like the last 4 years? Falling 10 games back is a very bad sign whether you like it...
or not and that is exactly whats going to happen if we keep losing games like this. We could have easily swept San Fran and now we have to scramble to win 2 in a row to take a series against one of the worst teams in baseball. We have a bunch of tough teams coming up and we will be swept in those series if we continue to play like this.
That's why I said 1 month into the season. We are 4 back after only a week...
and we have a lot of teams coming up that are way better than the Giants and Padres. If we continue to strand 10 runners per game, we will probably be lucky if we are only 10 games back.
Look, I love baseball, and I’ll be the first to admit that it does control a great deal of my life over the summer, but the fate of my world does not depend on whether or not the Braves make the playoffs or not. That being said, I told myself that losses aren’t going to bother me nearly as much as they used to in the past, which is why everyone’ll hear me say that things will be just fine.
I dont want to be a Debbie Downer however even though it’s 7 games into the season the team can not afford to really get far behind at any point in the season and be playing catch up.
In the early 2000s, the Braves would routinely play .500 or a little worse through the first 2-4 months of the year before seriously heating up in late July/August/September to take the division title.
Standing-watching can be frustrating, but it’s as much about not falling behind early as it is being able to go on a tear late.
This game makes me have second thoughts about going to the game Saturday.
If I have to fight all the traffic to get in there and they play like this, I will get physically sick.
I don’t drink, so I can’t count on alcohol to get me through :(

Who cares that our pitching only gave up 17 runs. Our offense only got 2 agaisn’t a crappy pitching staff. Our O just sucks, it’s pretty much heyward, prado, bmac. Glaus, nate, escobar, melky haven’t done jack this season. And chipper has been injured.
what a disgrace. Melky is an UNBELIEVABLE DISASTER at the top of the lineup – if he leads off one more f*cking game, they should kill the coaching staff. JOJO REYES – NEVER AGAIN.

We could have easily swept San Fran and now we have to scramble to win 2 in a row to take a series against one of the worst teams in baseball. Um, I was a bit too distracted (pujols, he smelled so good when I parked next to him to get a pic) to look and see what name brand it was…but he was highly metro, so I wouldn’t doubt it! I thought your graph for him was perfecto. :)

Who cares that our pitching only gave up 17 runs. Our offense only got 2 agaisn’t a crappy pitching staff. Our O just sucks, it’s pretty much heyward, prado, bmac. Glaus, nate, escobar, melky haven’t done jack this season. And chipper has been injured.
