Per the press release:
The Braves have announced that veteran sports broadcaster, Mike Morgan will join former Atlanta Brave Brian Jordan in the booth for four Atlanta Braves Spring Training games and 25 regular season Gwinnett Braves games on CSS.
Morgan, is currently the television voice of the Carolina Panthers and calls college football, basketball and baseball for various networks including ESPN, ESPNU and FS South. He called South Carolina Gamecock baseball, basketball and football on radio and television for 10 years.
I don't know much about him. Perhaps some of our Carolina readers will chime in and let us know what to expect from the new guy.

If I’m thinking about the right person, he’s ok. Nothing special, but he doesn’t tend to get in the way of the game the way some broadcasters do. I’m lookin’ at you, Chip Carey.

I think I know who this is...
unless it’s another Mike Morgan. I worked in the SC SID during law school, and met him a number of times. Nothing spectacular, but he’s solid. Nice guy too and knows his stuff.

Very Good!!! Morgan did a really good job calling games on radio there for years. Knowledge is outstanding, and he brings a lot of passion to the microphone. Very easy to listen to.

Nothing wrong with him
He shouldn’t have been fired from Gamecock sports in the first place. It was a political thing.

Just so long as it's not Joe
I’ll try not to hold his last name against him. I’m in the “Anyone-But-Joe Morgan” crowd. Who’s with me? I can’t stand that guy on Sunday evenings!
Cooper'sTown - March 4, 2010
Sunday Night Baseball
has the best crew with John Miller and Joe Morgan, that can’t be beat in my opinion
FSUBraves - March 4, 2010
Did I miss the sarcasm font?
Gage23 - March 4, 2010
Seriously?
Cooper'sTown - March 4, 2010
my bad, thought that was implied
FSUBraves - March 4, 2010
haha seriously hahah
they are just godddd awful and they sure do love them some yankees
carolinabrave89 - March 4, 2010
Which is pretty damn ironic when you consider that Miller is a full-time Giants broadcaster from Mon-Sat.
And Morgan is the biggest putz in the game. A pox on his house.
J-Freak - March 4, 2010
Bring back Katy Temple for the field.
Put Jerenovich back in the studio with Ron Gant, where he should be.
Ice Hickman’s dumb ass. If I saw that dude out in the street, I really might be tempted to deck his ass.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 4, 2010
I’ll second this, especially the Hickman part.
Lizziebeth - March 4, 2010
Consider it thirded
J-Freak - March 4, 2010
hate crime.

I already miss BOOG!
I know this may sound sacrilegious, but Sciambi & Simpson rivaled the early days of Skip and Pete.
MayorofPonce - March 4, 2010
If Boog & Simpson rival Skip & Pete, then it’s a Mets-Braves kind of rivalry – one team is not even close to beating the other team.
alligatorimpersonator - March 4, 2010
I wouldn’t go that far, but they were certainly second best
Bmacbandwagon - March 4, 2010
They had a facebook page that Boog plugged like freaking crazy. Then he sells out. …..Thanks Boog. I guess it was fun while it lasted.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 4, 2010
sold out?
If by sold out you mean major career promotion, then yes…
Doghnut - March 4, 2010
Tell that to Joe.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 4, 2010
Haha, I mean they had a great rapport, but I’m sure Joe isn’t sore at all about Boog leaving. He’ll miss him, sure, but I’d bet Joe is really happy for Boog and knows he deserves it. Boog is a great broadcaster. He is now full time at ESPN. That’s what happens when you’re good at what you do, with exception of Joe Morgan.
Gage23 - March 4, 2010
how many major career moves have you made based on what your co-workers wanted?
Doghnut - March 5, 2010
Didn’t he used to work for ESPN before he came to the Braves? It’s it’s a major promotion, then it follows a major demotion, with him ending up essentially where he started.
cbwilk - March 5, 2010
as far as I know
He wasnt full time at that point. I could be wrong.
Doghnut - March 5, 2010
As long as it's not Rathbun...
or even close to Rathbun.
Fischerking - March 4, 2010
Rathburn and Pajiorek (i know thaty can,’t be right) were awful. Just awful.
10-4 - March 5, 2010
Does a solid job when doin USC games, probably one of the best we have.
GameCockBrave - March 4, 2010

StottsEra - March 4, 2010
Haha. Yes. lol.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 4, 2010
i miss no panthers games
and i dont even recall his name
carolinabrave89 - March 4, 2010
Two fucking comma-splices in one short press-release!
I swear most of these “professional” journalists get paid to not know shit about proper grammar and good syntax.
jpx7 - March 4, 2010
umm...
they dont hire journalists to write press releases. the journalists are the ones the PR’s are being sent to…
