This is awesome

I’m 99% committed to buying one. Fantastic price. Is it possible we could see a couple of page samples?

There's a preview

on the purchase page. Just click the “Preview” link beneath the cover photo.

That preview got me excited. Already saw two of my pictures in there and they looked great.

Purchased... WOOT!!
just pulled the trigger myself

I love Talking Chop. For those of us, like myself, who don’t feel they know enough to contribute but are always lurking, this is a fantastic way to support all the great writers and editors.

That is no excuse. Lurkers unite, contribute!

Ha

The annual should help!

I completely agree. I lurk in the shadows reading/absorbing as much as possible bc I don’t feel like I have any "new"perspective to offer. This will help!

Exactly on the money bwellnjonesco. I can’t say I’m very knowledgeable of all the new advanced stats. I just don’t have the time to get into all of that, but certainly reading has made me more aware and little by little the I’m getting learned.

You don’t have to be a cbwilk to post. It certainly helps to have knowledgeable posters, but it’s the entire community contributing that makes this blog kick ass. Even you Fatazfoot (sp), wherever you are.

And cbwilk is proof that you don’t have to know anything about advanced stats to contribute.

ya but that CBwilk guy is kinda a loser

and he acts like he knows about the Braves’ prospects or something..

What a jackass.

all kidding aside

you really do a great job with all the writeups and propsect coverage. keep it up broski

No, but all kidding aside, he’s a jackass.

I concur with this statement…

ordered up

Ordered!

Hit with state sales tax ;-( but cant wait to get it!

Ordered!! I can’t wait to get my hands on this!

You guys are awesome.

In DOB's blog today.....

“Braves books for sale: Martin Gandy over at the Talking Chop blog has completed an ambitious project, publishing a informative, stat-heavy book that examines the 2009 season. I point this out because your Crusading Everyman, Pseudo-Hipster blogmeiser wrote the forward, thus assuring it will be a bestseller. That, or straight to the bargain bin.

Order your copy now, and buy one as a gift for your favorite Braves fan while you’re at it. (Just so you know, I didn’t get paid and ain’t getting any residuals or anything else. This was pro bono work; he must have caught me at the right time this winter when he asked.)"

The Link

Just out of curiosity, were you not allowed to use a Braves’ logo on the front cover?

That would likely require shelling out some serious cash. There’s some gray area, but since the book was about the Braves, any logo on the front page would likely have implied endorsement, which would mean ponying up to the Braves and MLB. I learned a lot about copyright law doing this thing.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the ’planation!

copyright law

/facepalm

If I go to law school, I’m staying far far far far away from that mess.

I have a birthday coming up, and I dropped a pretty big HINT that this is relevant to my interests.

Just let me know now if you left Jeff Francouer out of the book.

A small, very small section. Hardly noticeable.

Just ordered a copy.

Very reasonable price, too

The reviews of over 80 minor leaguers caught my eye. It looks like it could contain at least some valuable info for me. I’m probably going to go ahead and order this, despite being on staff with B-N. I’m very interested in seeing what you guys put together. I’ll plug anything that contains more info on our system.

Cha-ching

I just added to your coffers. Bought it a minute ago. I can’t wait to get it!

gondeee, I wish we could figure out some sweet 2 for 1 deal with my novel and this book. Too bad we made them through different publishers…

Its possible. You could add half the cost to one of them (ie. if it was 4 dollars make it 6) then just personally ship both books. Each one of you surely has extra copies, right?

I have a couple right now cause I’m gonna bring a few with me to ST, but no, I rarely have any copies. I’m not gonna buy them unless I can sell them, and given the fact that I’ve sold so few, I’m guessing I can’t sell them.

really? I would think they ship you a whole boxload… okay. The other problem with my idea is that someone in that situation looses out on profit

Profit. Ha. That’s funny.

crap. me fail. big time. damn. Insert red face here.

I bought a copy! I got it last week, but haven’t had a chance to read it yet.

Thanks! I really appreciate it. I hope whenever you do get around to it you don’t feel like it was a waste of your time and money.

Now you think of it…Of course, I already promised that I would buy your book. I gotta remember to do that.

Way to go guys!

I’m excited to know so many talented people. Now if I could just get them to admit knowing me…

They just showed the Braves highlights on ESPN...

Heyward absolutely smashed that ball in the 6th inning.

I’m gonna check it out when I get home. I’m glad they had cameras there!

Well they do own everything that's not breathing down there.

yet somehow highlights aren’t on espn.com

Annnnd now it's the Jason Heyward show on MLBN

I love it.

Ordered :)

After being so demanding earlier today, it’s the least I could do :)

I just realized that my almost three years at TC has resulted in two t-shirts and now a book…when are you guys heading to the studio to record your first album?

only one book?!? I’m ashamed…

haha

I saw the line on Lulu where it said if I ordered 9 more copies, I would start to see some savings…yeah…

no.. i was kinda talking about cb’s book…. (because now i feel bad about sounding so stupid up there)

crap forgot about that

2 t’s and 2 books..

The album...

Only if Gondee is singing about Doughnuts, Duff Beer, and Butter Chicken at the local Indian restaurant will it be a hit.

Mmmmm....

Butter Chicken

Ordered!!

Paid extra for quick shipping too. Really hoping to have this by the time I go to Spring Training. I’m thinking this will be a great reference for when I’m like “who the hell is that” with half of the guys on the field.

Very excited about it though. Thanks gondee!

Purchased!

Thanks, gondee. Really excited about the upcoming year.
