From MLBTR, the Braves have signed a former Phillies prospect, left-hander Yohan Flande to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Here's what MLBTR had to say about the minor signing:
Flande, 25 in January, has spent the last six seasons in the Phillies' farm system. He owns a 3.28 ERA with 6.5 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 in 501.2 career innings, and spent all of 2010 with Philadelphia's Double-A affiliate. Baseball America ranked Flande as the 17th best prospect in their system before the 2010 season, noting that he sits at 91-92 mph with his fastball and backs it up with a "plus changeup, which gains deception from his stiff, unconventional arm action." They call him a back-of-the-rotation starter or lefty specialist.
He's been stalled at double-A for the past year and a half, and he's been used primarily as a starter. Good signing, though at this point he's nothing more than minor league depth.

I'm guessing he starts in Mississippi?
Could have something here, although it looks like he hit a wall in AA (as many runs given up as Ks and a robust 4.8 K/9 last year).

Never hurts to take a chance on a lefty with starter potential. Change of scenery might do him some good.

“He’s the kind of guy you sign a bunch of and hope you get lucky,” -The Philly scout who noticed him..
With his deceptive delivery and dangerous change-up, he could develop into an intimidating relief prospect.

It would be great to use him against the Phills lefty-heavy lineup. Also funny that they are looking so desperately for a lefty reliever.

He may be minor league filler but doesnt that sound like something the Braves coaching staff can mold into something useful? It seems if he really has a plus change and a FB like that, he should at least be able to be a middle reliever, no?

Yes, it does. Potential cheap RP arm down the road at zero cost. Nice move.

Exactly what I was thinking. Sounds a bit like Minor. Anyway, sign him and and see if you can work some magic.
