The Braves add a veteran baseball man to their minor league staff:
Five months after being fired by the Orioles, former manager and baseball lifer Dave Trembley has landed the minor league field coordinator position with the Atlanta Braves, according to an industry source.
He is also expected to supervise the instruction of coaches and players throughout the Braves’ organization.
Trembley, who has been out of work since he was fired by the Orioles on June 3, could not be reached for comment.
Trembley, 59, spent eight years with the Orioles organization, including nearly three full years as manager, before he was dismissed after the team started 2010 with a 15-39 record and was buried in last in the American League East.In parts of four seasons as manager, Trembley’s Orioles posted a 187-283 (.398 winning percentage) record. He spent more than two decades in the minors, mostly as a manager, before being promoted to the big leagues in 2007 as the Orioles’ bullpen coach.
Good hire by the Braves. He seems like a great person to have on our player development staff. From what I've read and heard about him, he's always been well respected. If anyone knows anything more about him, please share in the comments.
Of course, this means that the Braves hire yet another former member of the Orioles front office. Frank Wren is a former Orioles GM, and he has added several other former Orioles in key positions with the Braves, including Scouting Director Tony DiMacio.

This is a solid baseball move for the Braves, I’m surprised Trembley couldn’t find a major league job somewhere.

Doesn't fit here at all...
but quickest way to get an answer
What’s the story with Peter Moylan. I’ve seen alot of rosterbation…. some here but more on CAC saying the bullpen is set with Venters, Kimbrel, Dunn, O’Flaherty and Marek……I’ve noticed a trend that PEMO wasn’t mentioned….. I don’t see any foreseeable reason he isn’t a Brave through atleast his 3 arb years upcoming
Good hire though…. one of FW’s guys i’m guessing

PEMO should be around next year, no reason he shouldn’t be. I think it’s odd that people are forgetting him.

I think he is the our best option out of the pen personally
Venters is better when he comes in with no one but I hate when he was brought in with ducks on the pond. But if i could take one guy for the 2011 roster it’d be PEMO so I’m getting alittle worries when i dont see him mentioned

one guy out of our bullpen options that is

Arbitration
I think he’s a 60/40 shot of sticking with the Braves. Being an arb-2, he’s going to be due at the very least somewhere around $1.6M, I’m guessing, and for a team that’s really trying to shed some payroll, runs a small risk of being non-tendered. Same goes for EOF, but since he spent eight weeks of the season with mono, it might hamper him just a hair going into arb-1. Kimbrel, Dunn and Venters are going to be making league minimum for three good BP guys, so you know they’re locks, and with Proctor’s option picked up, there’s one more righty to compete out Moylan.
But Moylan did himself a favor of mixing in his new quick delivery, and finished out strong, and still generated 13 Vidros, and stands a good chance of being retained.

I'm going to be pissed if we don't have PeMo and Caveman on the team next year.
Scott Coleman - November 9, 2010 via mobile
see i think $1.6 for PeMo is a steal
and wont be a price that hinders any other signing
JKowalek - November 9, 2010
say it's kimbrel, dunn, venters, marek, proctor and EOF
we’re still going to spend about $1m on another veteran arm…… there’s no reason we don’t keep him at anything lower than$2m
JKowalek - November 9, 2010
So we're basically turning into the Baltimore Marlins
This should be good.

Maybe he can bring the O’s winning tradition to Atlanta!
Lennox - November 9, 2010
yea, if we could pick any organization to take FO members from
it wouldn’t be the O’s

Man, I keep loving these coaching additions. Dave Trembley is an awesome guy and he’s great at working with young players. He was loved by every player he coached while working in the O’s Minor League system and he’s very committed to teaching players the right way to play. I have no doubt he’s going to fit in well on the Braves. And honestly I just like Dave, he’s a really, really good person.

Great Signing for the development staff
I used to live in Daytona Beach where Trembley coached the single A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs he won several titles there and did wonders for players. He was able to push a lot of players up to AA in a hurry as they acceled very well under him.
