Between every game in the postseason we will take a fan confidence poll. This poll will close one hour before game-time, so get your vote in. Results will be graphed at the end of the series.
Still long term problems with hitting for the organization. Can Chipper come back? If he does is next year his last? What about left field and some other positions? Who will be the new manager
I give this team a 7. Most of that is based on the playoff appearance and the strong position the team has with pitching along with Heyward and McCann. If the manager was set and I knew we had someone to replace Chipper I’d bump the rating to an 8 or 9.
I’m still not seeing a path for the Braves to win a championship this year. A lot of ultra rare things (Gonzalez getting a hit, Ankiel hitting a HR, scoreless innings from Farnsworth) had to happen for them to win last night. There’s little reason to think that’ll happen 9 more times.
I misread it as an org thing too, and gave it a 9 on that basis
As to playoff chances, they’re realistically somewhere around a 2 or 3…even with career performances from all our starting pitchers, our odds of getting past the Phillies are poor. But in terms of what I feel about this team, after that win last night…I dunno, 9 seems about right. They’re far from the most talented team in this postseason, but they may just be the luckiest.
Still at 7, but edging toward 8. I didn’t think they’d make the playoffs, but they did, and I didn’t think they’d be tied after leaving SF, but they are. They end up in the NLCS, I’m at 8. Let’s win today and break out the spanking machine for Little Timmy tomorrow (or is it Tuesday? Playoffs screw with my head).
I think we have a real good chance of reaching the NLCS. Can this injury-depleted team beat the Phillies (or Reds) in a 7 game series? Maybe. It might take magic, but maybe, at best.
I would vote 10 if we had brian wilson.

We do have Wilson…we own him. He’s our bitch.

Thank you for posting this.
I have some kind of weird infatuation with him for some reason. I have no idea why.

Jim Rome is so f*#&%*^ stupid
He doesn’t even have relevant question to ask him.
Jim Rome is an idiot, always has been, always will be

Most truthful TC comment ever.

I'm not sure about a 10

Nevermind. I thought this was the typical organization poll
I’d give the team a 5 for the postseason chances then. Just don’t see the hitting needed.

Since 5 worked before the last game...

Not to mention 10 more times. Blah.

justincredubil02 - October 9, 2010
The Giants are one thing...
The Phillies/Yankees/Rangers are another.
Tarkus - October 9, 2010
And this is baseball. Anything can happen.
It’s not like the Phillies dominated us during the season.
justincredubil02 - October 9, 2010
over the last six games with the Phillies we were dominated. What happened earlier in the season when we were healthy is irrelevant now.
mdhenshaw - October 9, 2010
This.
Tarkus - October 9, 2010
Over the last 1 game against Philly, we dominated them. What happened earlier in that series is irrelevant now.
justincredubil02 - October 10, 2010
dominated?
we barely hung on. Their bench nearly came back on us
Jtpdolphins2009 - October 10, 2010
And they barely won the first 2 games. See what I did there?
justincredubil02 - October 10, 2010
First two of the 6, not of the last series.
justincredubil02 - October 10, 2010
Maybe my 10
will balance out your 1. I guess too bad for you that you can’t vote zero, huh?
sddbaker - October 10, 2010
Voted 7
They will be FIRED up coming home……Just keep winning!
SAINTSfaninNC - October 9, 2010
Soo..
is this a bad time to remind you about the NFC South Standings?
BMacAttack - October 9, 2010
I've voted an 8 pretty much all season and am not planning on changing.

Momentum is on our side. And we’ve got Kimbrel. We’ve got Hudson and Lowe going in games 3-4 at home… I love our chances.
