Changes, changes, changes a-plenty in tonight's Braves lineup versus the left-handed starter for the Giants, Madison Bumgarner:
I approve! Though I'm not sure Diaz is hitting any better than Heyward at this point, but at least you can sacrifice with him and not feel bad about it.
Cox is getting just about every right-hander he can in the game without sticking the immovable object (Melky Cabrera) in center field.
Of course the biggest change is the defensive one, with Glaus replacing Brooks Conrad in the field.

WIN.
Except Troy is at 3rd, not 1st.

Braves24 - October 11, 2010
Since Rick Ankiel is not the Ankiel of old...
as in failpitching – for – the – Cardinals old……it seems Conrad has assumed the role.
My condolences, and his Sandovallike benching is unfortunately overdue..
No one feels worse about his amazing string of gaffes than he does, of course.
Where will he play next year (a la Jose “BOOTED BY” Lind)?
victor frankenstein - October 11, 2010
Pinch hitter
Same as this year.

I'm NOT trolling.
See the “My condolences”? They’re genuine.
I understand your natural suspicion, though.
victor frankenstein - October 11, 2010
yeah, game 1 must have been a real tear-jerker.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
Just sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop, really.
Hey, I’ll be the first to admit we backed into the playoffs.
Hell, I’d send the Diamondbacks a gift basket for all; their hard sweeping work on our behalf.
We’re fortunate as hell, in other words. These unearned runs don’t inspire any added confidence.
victor frankenstein - October 11, 2010
Damned rogue commas...
Proofreader failYOU’RE FIRED. AGAIN.
victor frankenstein - October 11, 2010
Great changes
I am happy that it finally took Bobby 3 games in to wake him up about the lineup, but better late than never and now we just gotta get some damn runs!!!!
It is so frustrating watching these guys swing and miss and make the giants look un- hittable.
Lincecum is a freak but I want us to face him once more because that would mean a win tonight!
BravesFan22 - October 11, 2010
Two first basemen? It’ll be pretty crowded over there.
TonyAlmeyda - October 11, 2010
I’m assuming Troy is at 3rd, Omar is a 2nd, and Lee is a 1st?
ChrisK562 - October 11, 2010
Two players at 1st, nobody at 2nd. It’s a bold choice, let’s see how it works out.

We’re going down swinging. I hope Conrad stays in the tunnel for the entire game.
BullManUGA - October 11, 2010
He’ll hit a walkoff HR.
Just watch. :)
TonyAlmeyda - October 11, 2010
I would bet money that Bobby pinch hits with Conrad.
Bama_Ben - October 11, 2010
After what Hinske's been doing in that role....
…..that would be silly.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
I hope Conrad pinch-hits tonight and hits a homer to put the Braves on top.
ChrisK562 - October 11, 2010
Man, I'd love it for the kid if he did that!!!

jbeachbum24 - October 11, 2010
I like it...
….but HATE Gonzo in the 5th spot. McCann’s unlikely to get much to hit yet again…..
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
It’s so they can’t double LOOGY us with McCann and Heyward.
That being said, I’d rather have Troy there instead of Gonzalez.
Scott Coleman - October 11, 2010

This.
J-Freak - October 11, 2010
Just read this on Yahoo Sports just before the lineup was announced
• Upgrade the No. 5 lineup spot: This could be another place where Troy Glaus(notes) fits in. They need the threat of something, anything, from the batter behind Brian McCann.
It’s not coming from Alex Gonzalez.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
Glaus hasn’t exactly been hitting much the last oh 3 months. Hopefully somebody found a time machine in the clubhouse and it’s actually May Glaus that is starting today.
redwards95 - October 11, 2010
I hate Gonzo period. But really nobody is having a great series, so Bobby might as well have filled out the bottom of the line up by picking out of a hat.
redwards95 - October 11, 2010
lowe is..
can we bat him 5th….?
Hektor DiPaula - October 11, 2010
If he can play LF, then sure!
redwards95 - October 11, 2010
I predict
World Series MVP Troy Glaus will be who shows up to the stadium tonight
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
I predict
Glaus will think it’s the middle of May tonight.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
I have a bunch of chloroform
If somebody has some calendars and some old newspapers from May, we can make this happen!
Creek Johnson - October 11, 2010
I hope Conrad gets a big pinch hit tonight…and I hope Troy gets a big hit too….love those guys.
Man the time is passing FAST today. It’s already 3ish.
MBL1 - October 11, 2010 via mobile
I love this team too...
Here’s to hoping they keep it going past tonite!
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
I'm PUMPED about the lineup! We may lose 20-0, but at least there was a change made.
It will be interesting and fun to see Glaus get a shot at 3rd and it’s nice to see Heyward hitting lower in the order. If I am the Giants I would bunt the ball to 3rd every time up. haha. It will be fun just to see if he can make the play.
BravesFanScout - October 11, 2010
Agreed
I too am excited about this lineup, even though I realize the Braves just have not been able to score many runs in this series, maybe and hopefully that this is a change in the lineup that will just somehow explode the bats. I would love to see the Braves come out and just crush the Giants 6 or 7 to nothing.
BravesFan22 - October 11, 2010
:) This thread makes me happy.
Gage23 - October 11, 2010
Braves Baseball 2010
If we go down, we’re going down swinging.
SuperNewb - October 11, 2010
+1
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
So what you’re saying is there will yet again be double digit strikeouts by the Braves line up? Hmm yeah I can definitely see that.
redwards95 - October 11, 2010
Half and half - pop-ups and K's
that’s my last negative post today…LOL
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
I think
it was meant more as a “we’re not going down without a fight”… But I could have interpreted that wrong…
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
make that check swinging…. Hammel is at 3rd tonight….
Hektor DiPaula - October 11, 2010
I think he has cycled back around to one of the outfield lines tonight. I could be wrong, though.
kidnarcolepsy - October 11, 2010
I hope you're right, for HIS sake
because if he effs up another call tonight, the Braves fans at the stadium might send the lynch mob after him.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
FTFY. You eat your enemy to obtain his power; then you go out there and blow a slew of calls against the Giants, and toss Bochy for arguing.
J-Freak - October 11, 2010
hahaha. I love you guys.
MBL1 - October 11, 2010 via mobile
Emmel? otherwise this
BMacAttack - October 11, 2010
Thank you Bobby Cox
Finally, a lineup I approve of……
I still believe we can win this series.
Go Braves!
HEYJUDE - October 11, 2010
Could be the last game of the year, Brent.
Can’t hold anything back now.
707kid - October 11, 2010
Wow Dan...did you think of that all by yourself?
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Can't wait to see the bunt fest now that Glaus is at 3B.
But I’m not complaining. There’s really nothing else Bobby can do. There’s no way you can throw Conrad back out there.
AnEternalEnigma - October 11, 2010
Giants don't have a ton of speed....
….and Glaus got to Renteria’s bunt well enough, it was just a perfect one. I really don’t see the Giants trying to take much advantage of that.
Although I can’t think of a more beat-up, slow 4-some in McCann, Glaus, Lowe, and Lee all going after a bunt at the same time.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
We can win this. There’s no quit in this team.
As long as we go down swinging, I’m fine with whatever outcome happens tonight.
ryantex - October 11, 2010
Yesterday was the single worst day as a sports fan
Between what happened with the Braves. To what ensued with my Niners last night. I have never experienced two more humiliating loses in such a short period of time.
Good news is it ain’t over, here’s to redemption!!
Virginia9er - October 11, 2010
My weekend was just as horrible
On Saturday – the Canes get the sh*t kicked out of them by FSU. Then coupled with the Braves game, my fantasy football team got beat. Best part, you ask? I lead the league in points (by more than 60 over the 2nd guy) and I am 0-5. Talk about bad luck!!
Safe to say, I’m glad this past weekend is over.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
If I lumped in fantasy it is even worse
I scored the lowest points in 2 leagues, but I already have a win in both, my teams are garbage though.
On the bright side, a majority of the 49er fans over at NinersNation are actually A’s fans so I didn’t have to hear about the Braves game.
Virginia9er - October 11, 2010
I'm in a Yahoo! league, and...
Well at least they’re A’s fans…that would add insult to injury.
I haven’t posted a week under 120 points, and each week, I just so happen to play the team that has the greatest week of all time vs. my squad. Here’s my lineup:
P. Rivers, C. Johnson, P. Hills (used to be Ryan Grant…whoops), R. Wayne, J. Maclin, Flex (used to be Portis, now it’s D. Henderson from NO, for now), A. Gates, R. Bironhas (sp) and the GB defense. 0-5, really
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Post fail...
I put in the 1st sentence after the fact…you get my point. LOL
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Yup
That is pretty rough. I’ve had similar things happen different years. Plenty of time left right…
Virginia9er - October 11, 2010
I pretty much
need to win out at this point, in order to make the playoffs. Everyone is saying the same thing on my message board for the league – if I get in, nobody wants to play me.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Canes got whooped
Braves24 - October 11, 2010
Yep...waaaay pissed about that game
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
The refs sure weren’t helping either
Braves24 - October 11, 2010
It really doesn't matter when
they couldn’t stop the run and had Harris playing on 1 leg (well, groin) for most of the game.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
yea
FSU just pounded it up the middle. I was hoping the Cans would beat FSU but…
Braves24 - October 11, 2010
I was there, and it was painful. No other way to describe it. Canes were never in it.
ryantex - October 11, 2010
Win or lose, this was a helluva of ride for the 2010 Braves....
Regardless of what happens tonight, this was by far one of the best/most exciting season the Braves have had in a long time. It was going to take a miracle of epic proportion for us to make it to the World Series. Injuries to key players (I think Heyward is still bothered by the thumb) was our biggest killer. I’m glad that we aren’t going down quietly. Let’s Go Braves!
romone_braves91 - October 11, 2010
Wow that is quite a change! Here’s hoping it works out.
rustibrave79 - October 11, 2010

FARNSWORTH PILEDRIVER
TonyAlmeyda - October 11, 2010
Reminds me of Game 4 of the NLDS vs. Houston in 2004.
Down 2-1 in the series, Bobby swapped J.D. Drew and Marcus Giles. Drew hit #2 and Giles hit #3. Drew ended up hitting the game-winner with 2 outs.
Hopefully Diaz can show us how #2 is done tonight.
AnEternalEnigma - October 11, 2010
Let’s just hope for a different Game 5.
Scott Coleman - October 11, 2010
Let's worry about Game 4, first...

No reaction tonite from me, until the damned thing is over.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
I'm seriously considering
not watching the game… All of their runs have been scored when I’m away from the TV/radio or, alas, after I fell asleep on Friday night while listening after it went into extras… I feel if I keep away they’ll put up some big numbers… but how can I not watch?
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
yeah, same here.
screw it. i’m watching anyway. our only run is coming in the 8th inning, anyway.
you heard it here, first.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
How bout this, instead??
How about we jump on em in the bottom of the first inning, hang a crooked number, and have SF chase US down, for a change?
Atlanta has played from behind for the better part of the whole series, thus far. Let’s change it up, shall we??
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010

another lefty that we haven’t seen before.
and from what I hear, he’s legit.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
Derek Lowe
Is pretty legit too… And they say pitching him on short rest puts more drop on his sinker… we’ll see
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
He's good, but he's also a rookie
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
so...... no perfect game, but a no-hitter.......?
lol. i joke.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
It was such a brutal 10 minutes....
Bad timing has done quite a bit of harm to this club.
The Braves start falling apart just when the Phillies get healthy, for example.
Wagner surprisingly stays healthy the entire season, goes down one game before the Braves need him the most.
It’s remarkable what this team has been through. Just stay healthy next year, add a decent bat, and give it another go. Very excited for this club.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
yeah, i'm very optimistic for next year too, however.... i wanna see
new manager = Fredi Gonzalez
new hitting coach = __________ (whom-the-fuck-ever)
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
How's this for the new hitting coach........
Chipper Jones…player coach!!
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
sounds great. nowhere to go but up.
pitching (check) …..as evidenced by PLAYOFFS
hitting (______) any type of gameplan here would probably get us to another WS
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
not to mention
Jurrjens will be back in full form next year and Hanson will be over his sophmore slump… Our staff is gonna be deadly… deadly…
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
It's all about the bats and bullpen this offseason.
I’m not going to rosterbate, but let’s hope FW solidifies the OF this coming offseason and maybe scoop up another arm for the pen, assuming Wags retires.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
He will
I’m a Wren believer…. He’s got my support, 100%
HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010
Improve the team by 20+ wins with a declining payroll in two years? That works for me.

Ted Turner was at the game. Maybe the collapse re-lit the fire.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
Ted Turner, how we miss thee

BigG1392 - October 11, 2010

HansonManCrush - October 11, 2010 via mobile

I hate myself for forgetting to mention Meds…. There’s no excuse… I guesss it’s because he’ll be out the first half

I mean last night just killed me. I could hardly sleep because I just kept replaying everything over and over in my mind. I need to learn to deal with this sort of thing better. I was seriously considering not watching the game tonight because I just didn’t think I could deal with the stress all over again, but who am I kidding? There is no way in heck I’m not watching.
Maybe I need some sort of sports fan therapy. Or you know, let’s just win it all. That would solve things. Get it done boys!
Cayla - October 11, 2010
Somebody posted something like this last night, so I'll echo that post...
Your Atlanta Braves – giving their fans heart attacks since 1991.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
I posted that in the game thread yesterday.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - October 11, 2010
I was at the game. I barely slept.
It’s hard to sleep after such a huge build-up and quick come-down. Hinske’s 2-run homer was seriously one of the most thrilling things I’ve ever seen in person. And within 20 minutes, it was completely taken away.
AnEternalEnigma - October 11, 2010
I don't think that I've really accepted that it happened.
To hit the homer and go ahead, it just felt meant to be. I keep asking, why? Why did we hit the homerun just to lose anyway? Probably overly melodramatic, but I’m one of those people that believes that everything happens for a reason, and I couldn’t stop saying, why, why, why.
Maybe Troy was meant to lead us to the finish, and this all had to happen to get him back on the field? Wishful thinking I know, but it makes me feel a little better to think so.
Cayla - October 11, 2010
Just don't ever get to a point where...
…you’re having to RELY on a sports team to cheer you up. Even the best of the best get tripped up, just try and put it in perspective.

Same here.
I was yelling “No bobby DO NOT come out of there. DO NOT make this move.”

At that point, I knew it was officially over.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010

BravesFaninAZ - October 11, 2010
Does anyone else think
Farnsworth should close. I know that is a bit of a sore subject, but he pitched 2 innings in game 2, not without issue, but without runs. And he came in last night and got the necessary ground ball to at least get to the bottom of the 9th with the game still tied, but Brooks was having none of it.
Virginia9er - October 11, 2010
No No No
Been there and done that; The first movie was bad (Houston) the sequel maybe worse!
Mullett - October 11, 2010
I figured its the unpopular move
Just throwing it out there.
Virginia9er - October 11, 2010
Not to say Kimbrel
Wasn’t really given a fair opportunity. If it had been Wags, Bobby let’s him pitch. He ends up with the L and besides allowing the base-runners (yes a large part) had no say in the matter.
Virginia9er - October 11, 2010
Wasn't the ground ball to Brooks given up by Moylan?

Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
Everybody who has gotten a hit is playing better than Heyward. Doesn’t mean he can’t start it up tonight!
jbeachbum24 - October 11, 2010
Here’s hoping you are right; However it looked like the K in the first inning was on a hanging slider; And he is missing 91 and 92 mph fastballs down the middle; I’d say be more aggressive at the plate and forget the On Base Percentage…..Look for the inside fastball and do what Ron Gant use to do with those.
Mullett - October 11, 2010
Too bad they refuse to pitch him inside.
BeatTehMets - October 11, 2010
It seems like forever since he has swung at the first pitch. I don’t mean to always do it, but switch it up a bit.
jbeachbum24 - October 11, 2010
He swung at a first pitch last nite.
Flyout to Burrell in the 4th.

cthabeerman - October 11, 2010
Yep you’re right.
jbeachbum24 - October 11, 2010
Right on! Here's to Heyward catching fire!
BravesFaninAZ - October 11, 2010
Heyward will start hitting and then all the people cheering the decision to drop him down in the lineup will cry, “WHY ISN’T HE HITTING LOWER IN THE LINEUP!?”
It makes me laugh.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - October 11, 2010
Maybe Troy Glaus is the Braves’ good luck charm. When he comes in to games, good things seem to happen.
He made the game-saving defensive play in game 2. Then in game 3, he was used to get Sanchez out of the game, which led to Hinkse’s home run.
BrandonG - October 11, 2010
Why the hell
Did it take Bobby until potentially the last game of the season to realize that Heyward needed to get out of the 2 spot?
BigG1392 - October 11, 2010
I dunno, he fit in the #2 spot perfectly most of the time...
Most patient hitter on the team, didn’t have a ton of power, gets on base with the best of them……
When Chipper went down, I was screaming for Heyward in the #3 hole. But it honestly wouldn’t have made much of a difference. Once his power starts developing more, he’s definitely a middle of the order guy.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
the same reason
it took him so long to plug Prado into the lead-off spot. if he had waited any longer to do so, we wouldn’t have made it to the play-offs with it being so close of a race.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
I have class from 1:40 to 4:30
and it’ll take 10 minutes to get home. Guess who’s leaving a few minutes early?
Scott Coleman - October 11, 2010
Conrad?
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
lol
Scott Coleman - October 11, 2010
Where are you at, mvhs?
7pm EDT start…I’m assuming you’re on the left coast?
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Or did I friggin miss the memo on the start time?
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Arizona
i give up trying to remember that most of you are ahead of me
Scott Coleman - October 11, 2010
My bad...
I thought they changed it to a 4:30 start time, in which case I’d be shutting off my PC right about….now.
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
Alright ladies and gents
I’m outta here. Gotta do some work here. See you all on the OT in 2 hours!
DolphinNation - October 11, 2010
go braves
Braves24 - October 11, 2010
this!
SuperNewb - October 11, 2010
Hey Gondee..........
That 1 finger typing will get ya in trouble !!
ggotch - October 11, 2010
I'm getting excited about this game!
And I may as well ask this here: is there anything for a vegetarian to eat in the stadium besides slices of cheese pizza? That was all I could find last night, but surely someone here knows of something else, right?
Gray - October 11, 2010
I can only think of two other things: pretzels and nachos.
Asher Burk - October 11, 2010
So I feared.
Gray - October 11, 2010
Nachos
with salsa and jalapenos and/or cheese. You might have to go to the Chophouse to find alternate options, but since they’re actually a restaurant, you might be able to find some non-meat options there. Or the 755 club, which has the same type of menu.
royhobbs - October 11, 2010
finally the mastermike´s post has effect
Heyward is batting sixth
joshant - October 11, 2010
The Topic Is Movies(just trying to pass the time)
Top 5 of the year?
Mine, in no particular order:
1. Four Lions
2. Winter’s Bone
3. 127 Hours
4. Blue Valentine
5. The Kids Are All Right
Still a ton left to see: Get Low, The Social Network, Black Swan, True Grit, The Kings Speech, Biutiful, Rabbit Hole, Another Year, Hereafter, a billion documentaries….
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
You've seen all of those? Festivals?
I can’t wait for 127 Hours, Black Swan, and True Grit.
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
Most of them at TIFF...
…but a couple of advanced screenings as well. Got lucky this year…
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
I'm jealous. Mostly about 127 Hours.
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
127 Hours....
…was fantastic. It’s a tough watch, and I generally dislike Franco……..but wow, knocked it out of the fucking park here.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
Yeah I'm excited for it. I like Franco in general though.
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
I liked him in Pineapple Express and Milk....
…and he showed he had some chops with those two films. But Flyboys, Spider Man, Freaks and Geeks, etc…….didn’t like him.
I hear he’s pretty great in Howl as well.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
Piranha 3d
Was the Citizen Kane of Piranha movies.
SuperNewb - October 11, 2010
I enjoyed Prianha 3D a lot. Pretty hilarious
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
Social Network
Was a pretty good movie, I was impressed
KJDH2154 - October 11, 2010
Agreed. Great movie.
Fincher/Sorkin did a great job.
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
What?!
No Machete?!

Toy Story 3 was sooo awesome.

Where do you go for movie news etc? I read a couple of sites daily but I hadn’t heard much/anything of a few of the more indie films you mentioned.
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
awardsdaily.com
Excellent site, if you disregard their Oscar obsession. But they cover mainstream, indy, foreign, pretty consistently. Great for finding some hidden gems.
Undocorkscrew - October 11, 2010
Sweet I will check it out. Thanks
s.r.j - October 11, 2010
Kickass>all
MikeTrain - October 11, 2010
Good luck tonight from Phils fan
I dont really have a rooting interest in the game, other than wanting this series to go 5 games, so I’ll be pulling for the Braves tonight.
Nikk.m - October 11, 2010
Thanks!
Most Philly fans that have been coming here are trolling. The kind words really mean a lot.
MBL1 - October 11, 2010 via mobile
I don’t really care but whatever helps my team aren’t exactly kind words… but I’m kidding, any wishes for good luck are ok in my book.
jbeachbum24 - October 11, 2010
Why five?
Considering the Phillies swept, you aren’t concerned that this long layoff until the start of the NLCS might take the sharpness off of some of the Phillies players?
royhobbs - October 11, 2010
Phils next game will be on Saturday, regardless of what happens in this series.
Nikk.m - October 11, 2010
But it would also mean that Lincecum or Hanson wont be available until game 3 on the NLCS.
Nikk.m - October 11, 2010
The Phillies had to sit for 8 days for the 2008 World Series to begin while the Rays and Red Sox were beating each other.
Phillies won the series in 5 games. Didn’t seem to affect them too much.
AnEternalEnigma - October 11, 2010
It's Do or Die Time
I do see this team rallying around both Bobby and Conrad to take the game tonight. Here is to Heyward finally getting a postseason hit (and in a key situation) and Conrad coming through as a pinch hitter.
Fingers crossed that Troy does an adequate job tonight.
LEastCoastBears - October 11, 2010
NLCS or bust
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010

did you just watch the replay of the error....?
i said the same thing…..
Hektor DiPaula - October 11, 2010
I just had to let out frustration
Wasn’t able to the night of as much, the GF came over right after
MikeTrain - October 11, 2010
i don't "love" this lineup
but there was nothing else to be done. glaus is still a huge liability at 3b.
@ZachKleinWSB: Didn’t get it on video, but Glaus threw 2 balls past the first baseman during practice.
lingsched - October 11, 2010
does someone know where is umpiring Emmel tonight?
joshant - October 11, 2010
*will be
joshant - October 11, 2010
Nope but tomorrow he'll be buried in my backyard.
Creek Johnson - October 11, 2010
Okay, a little harsh, but still
I think he’s at Third tonight.
Creek Johnson - October 11, 2010
i´m feeling check swings fails
Hopefully, Braves will try to hit him throwing the bat or make a clothes line to him when someone is running throught 3rd
joshant - October 11, 2010
i hope there’s a thunderstorm so lightning can strike him
sepulcher - October 11, 2010
This game feels like a placeholder.
If we lose, I won’t be too broken up. We had the weakest side in the postseason, and it showed. Glad we didn’t get swept.
In a way, things are more problematic if we win. I just know I’ll get emotionally invested in Game 5, even though I shouldn’t, but I just can’t see how this lineup gets past Lincecum. Winning the right to face one of the top 3 pitchers in the league hardly feels like winning at all.
SS451 - October 11, 2010
It's baseball!
No matter who is pitching, on any given night…
BravesFaninAZ - October 11, 2010
Derek I know you will toss a pearl tonight. I believe in you. Go get ’em.
15ks - October 11, 2010
No matter the outcome, I will ALWAYS love my BRAVES and I will ALWAYS love BRAVES COUNTRY!!
sepulcher - October 11, 2010
I am FineHamAbounds, and I endorse this lineup.
I see a lot of K’s, but I see a lot of power too. And Conrad’s on the bench as a pinch hitter where he belongs. You know Bobby will use him in a late-inning situation, just like he always runs a reliever back out there the day after a tough outing. Braves win tonight, Brooks gets his redemption, and we head back to San Fran to exact revenge on Tim Lincecum.
FineHamAbounds - October 11, 2010
Don't ya just love Bobby sometimes
A lineup change should have occurred a month ago, but he waits till a playoff elimination game to do it. Yeah “Thanks Bobby”
Kineticist - October 11, 2010 via mobile
Whatever.
Could be his last game tonight. He’s made his fair share of mistakes, including a few during this series (and last night), but the truth is that his squad is just weak. Can’t blame him for that. Whatever else happens, I hope he goes out on a high note of some sort.
SS451 - October 11, 2010
So they are going with Glaus at 3B
Interesting
bestbostonsports - October 11, 2010
since i followed this blog all year like a kid a barney concert, and I just now had the guts to sign up, this being my first day, i would just like to say one last thing while the braves are still in the action(for sure, i think it will be more to come also)….
uh… Go Braves!!!!
(and you thought it would be something profound or meaningful)
rookiefan - October 11, 2010
“at a barney concert”
dang.. epic fail..
rookiefan - October 11, 2010
Welcome!
BravesFaninAZ - October 11, 2010
Love this lineup
As much as one of our lineups can be loved. Which would be more like a gentle dislike.
Frozen Fan - October 11, 2010
WELL IT'S
ABOUT DAMN TIME BOBBY!!! This lineup should have come a long, long time ago. Better late than never.

Can’t wait to see Nate batting with the game on the line, in the 9th, again.
Cheers. We’re all going to need it, tonite. Either way. I’m good. We got him to the playoffs. That’s enough. We’re decimated.
Go BRAVES!!!!
Chief Noc-A-Homa - October 11, 2010
This.
It’s hard to get too down on this team, as it doesn’t nearly resemble the team that got us here. Braves fans know what would have happened with a fully healthy roster.
king of games - October 11, 2010
If we had Chipper, Prado and Medlen in there, this series would be over….Philly headed to Atlanta (yes, that’s right – the Braves would have held onto the division lead).
EricGreggWasPaidOff - October 11, 2010
+ 0.5
Kineticist - October 11, 2010 via mobile
I like this lineup for one big reason:
The lower half isn’t filled with auto-outs. I feel like the team has a real chance to score in any given inning tonight, instead of just every other inning or every third inning, like it has been in previous games.
EricGreggWasPaidOff - October 11, 2010
I love this lineup!
We are going to see some Braves runs tonight! Glaus will surprise us all!
BravesFaninAZ - October 11, 2010
also, the magical power of my new Chipper and Bmac cards will propel us to victory

But having a day to think about it puts this series in perspective. Regardless of the result, this has been one of the most thrilling postseason series I have ever seen.
