That Joel Sherman just keeps dishing it out today:
Not for nothing, but shouldn't Mets put APB out on Reyes just in case he's off having surgery behind their backs, too
Zing! His next comment, though, was a true indictment of the way the Mets do business:
Ultimately Mets best plyr (Beltran) had such disdain/distrust of org that ignored its desires to simply take more time, see 1 more Dr.
I sure hope Frenchy doesn't get hurt, because his whine factory could really churn out some dislike for the Mets.

Schaudenfraude?...
Don’t mind if I do.

Happiest guy in baseball today...
is Mark McGwire. Now that Beltran has gone under the knife, there’s a whole ’nother story for reporters to feast on instead of him.
In fact, hardly anyone has noticed that Brad Lidge also has had (relatively minor) knee surgery, too.

yea
but he didnt do it behind the teams back Beltran just from how i see it looks alittle screwed the Mets FO looks like they actually want to reprimand him

Can you blame the guy?
He’s easily a top-ten OF when healthy, and might be one of the best CF to ever play the game, and they misdiagnosed him how many times last year, wrecking what was setting up to be a career year? If it were me I’d have gone to a real doctor too and told the team medics to stay the hell away from my knee. I don’t know what kind of voodoo they’re practicing in Flushing, but I sure hope it isn’t the start of a trend.

Agreed.
Just wait til Johan gets shut down halfway through spring training and never tops 87 mph again.

OMG OMG. I'd be sooo excited!!!

What? Don’t wish that on Johan! He seems like a good guy. Funny thing is Johan would be better off if he stayed with the Twins. I know he was frustrated with their cheapskate ways, but at least they were & are a well run organization. The Mets are a bumbling joke as usual.

This
I don’t wish physical incapacitation or anything like that on any player, even if I don’t like them. I’d rather them be at their peak performance and still get beat by the Braves than to possibly have an excuse that they were hurting. It was such a great night when the Braves finished a four-game sweep of the Mets, with Tim Hudson outdueling Johan in a tightly-contested game with the deciding run(s) coming off of good-performing Johan, courtesy of Chipper. And looking back at this box score, lol at Jeff Francoeur killing the rally following Chipper and Teix’s RBIs with a GIDP.

But at least he didn't REALLY kill the rally with something like a walk.
