Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll

If it's Friday, then it's the Atlanta Braves fan confidence poll. This poll and therefore your confidence level should encompasses several areas of the team. These areas include, but are not limited to, the team’s ownership, current management, talent, minor-league system, and general playing ability on the field. The poll will stay open for 48 hours, and then the results will be posted and graphed against the previous weeks.

Poll
On a scale of 1-to-10, with 10 being "100 percent confident," and 1 being "no confidence at all," how confident are you in the Atlanta Braves organization?

Imagine that

we lose a few games and the poll drops….

The major league team is struggling and just about out of playoff contention, but the organization as a whole is in good shape. With Schafer, Heyward, and Freeman potentially cracking the lineup next year, the outlook for 2010 looks bright assuming Wren can re-sign one of Gonzalez and Soriano or trade for a new closer. I voted 8.

Aren’t we closer to a playoff berth than we were at this point last week?

Voted a 6 like I have been.
Until they prove to me they can play better than .500 ball for more than 2 games, that’s where I’ll be.

If you take a poll weekly, it will of course get the knee-jerk responses of the last game(s) in people’s minds. It’s logical and human nature. A monthly poll might allow for the tides of emotion to settle out more….But either way, it’s just something for fun.

I have 9

ok we have lost a few games recently..but there is still plent of time to throw together a streak and we are right back in this. Our future looks great!

I like your style.

Wow

What a crappy day for a poll. I mean, I’ve been in the 7-8 region all year, but after last night I’m feeling more like a 4.

I’m conscientiously objecting to my own vote, and am abstaining for at least 24 hours.

Any organization that has Randy Gress in its system deserves a 10.

I’m still recovering from a hangover. I stayed up all night to watch that garbage of an outing by Soriano. I just read this on AJC: Soriano has a 10.13 ERA in his past seven appearances, with seven hits, six runs and two homers allowed in 5-1/3 innings. What’s happened to this guy?

he didn’t get selected to the AS game, and now he has nothing to play for.

Only 3 blown saves this year – used to death out of the BP – I’m not throwing him under the bus yet.

Tough room.

Too many appearances in games the Braves had a huge lead in. Whatever happened to only pitching your closer in save situations?

I really hate watching him pitch out there; he looks like he’s half asleep. Overall, his numbers don’t look too bad but he’s really struggling. Gonzo is throwing the ball much better than he is. I wouldn’t mind seeing that switch even though the guy can be quite wild himself. Maybe we’ll come to find out that Soriano is hurt…again…

wait… what?

i voted 7

which i’ve done for the past two months

voted 8

I’m still holding out hope for the post season this year, but even if the Braves fall out of contention there are definite positive trends which warrant confidence in the club. The focus on improving the pitching, the guys coming up from the minors, and some pretty good trade moves are all good signs that management is looking to make post season appearances a regular occurrence once again.

I like how people criticize eachother for how they voted

Get over it. If someon is pissed off and wants to vote 4, let them vote 4. If someone votes 10, they vote 10. Its not like its going to change anything.

voted 7

as i have for awhile now.
I cannot go with a higher number until I see the team improve on getting RISP home, thus giving the BP room for mistakes. We cannot expect and over used BP to be perfect. They need more runs to work with, if Bobby continues to use the same pitchers night after night!

grumble grumble

I still think we have a slim shot at the playoffs this year, but I’m extremely optimistic about the coming seasons. If Schafer and Heyward can transition well next year, we’ll have essentially the same club we started with in 2009, but with our greatest positional liability (OF) replaced wholesale with presumably more productive personnel.

With the possible addition of Hudson and whatever goodies we can land with the salary freed up by departing Free Agents, I feel like we’ll be in very good shape.

1B may be an issue, but the worst we can do is opt for an internal stopgap for Freeman, none of whom I feel are incapable.

So if 17% wants to vote 4 or lower, that’s fine. I just don’t think it makes any sense.

We are probably around 58%
