With John Smoltz signing with the Cardinals, fellow long-time Atlanta Braves rotation-mate Tom Glavine won't be outdone...
Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine will pitch AirTran Airways on billboards and radio spots in the Atlanta area.
AirTran announced Glavine's signing on Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.
Gotcha! I wonder if he'll wear a Braves uniform in the ads. Strange that they use a guy who was released from the team this year, as opposed to someone currently on the team. I also love how this release is similar to baseball releases in that "terms were not disclosed."
AirTran shares rose 11 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $6.44 in afternoon trading.

This clearly makes Airtran Airways a contender for a 2nd quarter surge.

I’d rather have seen them give that endorsement deal to another Tommy.

No way
He’ll be wearing generic white baseball uniforms with teal trim color of AirTran. Like the old Ilya Kovalchuk, Warrick Dunn, and Matt Ryan wearing teal and white uniforms all over the billboards in the city, past and present.

I always though he should . . .
and the slogan could be, “Why walk when you can fly?”

i like this slogan more:
“I never take a walk so why should you?

Watch it now. That stuff doesn’t grow on trees ya know.
You have to give it to the old timers to keep on raking in the money however they can.
How can Delta even afford Glavine? He doesn’t work for cheap! Just ask the Braves.
