Hank Aaron responds to the release of Tom Glavine by the Braves

First, it should be noted that Hank Aaron is a paid executive on the board of directors for the Atlanta Braves, but Hank's never been one to shy away from speaking his mind. He talked with ex-AJC writer, and current FanHouse writer, Terence Moore about how he viewed the release of Tom Glavine:

"I wouldn't have said anything if I were John Schuerholz. I think that was a mistake, because it was a no-win situation in his case, as much as [Schuerholz] tried to patch up the differences," Aaron said. Then he laughed, adding, "This is the first time I've ever been on management's side. I mean, Glavine got paid very well through the years to play here, and there's never a good way to handle these situations. But if you're the Braves, you've got to throw those kids out there and let them pitch. If you're Glavine, you have to be gracious enough to step aside."

That's a mounting chorus of individuals who are telling Glavine to "put a sock in it." The story goes on to quote Aaron about how he felt when he left the game -- worth a quick read.

Way to lay down the “Hammer”…Hank.

I see what you did there..

Awesome…so it isn’t just us “ungrateful, ignorant, selfish, spoiled” fans who think this…

Exactly what I was thinking.

Glavine’s the one who seems to really only care about the money.

Unfortunately this won’t die down or go away until people stop throwing their 2 cents out to the media.

I agree with Hank but we should move on and focus on our current season and players.

How much of a beeyatch do you have to be before a class act like Hank Aaron tells you to STFU?

Now we know…

Is that the whambulance I hear coming?
