Indianapolis 6, Gwinnett 10
A couple of guys tossed in homers in this one as well. Cllint Sammons had a a 2 run shot and SS Antonio Perez added his first of the season. Tom Glavine is making a bid to move back to Atlanta. This is something I can't get behind. I've mentioned how I feel in the past, so i won't get into it here, but please no. Also, it is a little sad that Barbaro Canizares is posting a .930 OPS but has no where to play in Atlanta.
Mississippi 0, Birmingham 8
Well that was ugly. The M-Braves managed just 2 hits on the game against 3 Birmingham pitchers. Cory Gearrin got the call up from Myrtle Beach as a lot of relief pitchers shifted in the organization today. Gearrin was also the only Braves pitcher not to allow a run in this game. Good for him.
Winston-Salem 3, Myrtle Beach 2
Jason Heyward sat out a second straight game. My guess is his hammy is tender again and they are just being cautious with him. Rohrbough came out in the 6th and then Tim Gustafson allowed two hits and error by Ludahl allowed two runs to score. The other run he allowed was on a wild pitch in the 2nd inning.

Canizares could be trade bait at the deadline. He is nothing special, but if another team’s 1b is sucking he might be an appealing throw in.

Jason Heyward is gonna be the next Chipper Jones-in that, he is constantly out with little injuries. We should trade him now for Jermaine Dye.

Hate to make it sound like an excuse but consider he’s 19, it could possibly still be lingering growing pains. He’s a beast now, and scarily, could grow a little bit more.

I think its more along the lines of they’re handling him with kid gloves. They don’t want a pulled hamstring to turn into something worse

you’re both right. i was just making a humorous comparison, mostly because the current team is driving me insane.

I selfishly hope Heyward can play at least by Sunday since I’ll be seeing the Pelicans, but in reality there is no way they should risk playing him if he is in the slighest bit of pain
