For those of you who have been around the blog for a while, you know that I take lengthy vacations every so often. Last year I was in Singapore for two weeks, of course, that was for work and came up at the last minute. This year I'm headed to Germany and Austria. Why, you ask? Because I found a round-trip airfare on Delta for $395 from Atlanta to Stuttgart and couldn't pass that up.
I'll be heading out next Tuesday and will be gone through the end of May. In my absence I'm turing the ol' Chop over to some of the regulars around here. Of course Matt (yondaime4) will be the main guy in charge, but he'll also get some help from Danny (RoyHobbs), C.B. (cbwilk), and... wait for it.... it's not a joke... Joe (bigjoe). Matt and Danny have proven their blogging chops over the past year, Matt with the great daily minor league recaps and Danny with some great FanPosts. C.B. and Joe did a terrific job with their player previews before the start of the season and their knowledge and writing ability should serve them well.
Each person will take a day or two per week and do the open thread, game recap, and post any other stories that they feel warrant your attention. Someone out there needs to keep track of the Braves' record for each person, so we can see who was good luck and who was bad luck at the end of this run. That run, by the way, will start today with bigjoe. So get ready!

Germany and Austria?
I’m jealous. Right now is a pretty good time to be doing some traveling (outside of Mexico) with all the airlines running sales to bring up summer travel. I’ve seen deals for everywhere in the US, most of Asia and Europe, and Australia.
If I weren’t blowing all my savings for 2 weeks in Italy next month, I think I would try to put together a trip to London for the fall.
Also, I expect a full review upon your return.

You’re going to Italy and you’re jealous?! :) Wow. Italy’s at the top of my travel wish list right now (unfortunately that list just gets longer and longer, and nothing checked off). I’m jealous of both of you! Hope you both have fantastic trips.
Gond, one of my best friends was born in Austria and grew up in Stuttgart; when did you get that fare? He’d like to go back and see his dad, who’s not doing too well health-wise.

I got it a couple of months ago, but I think they’ve got other good fares going on there as well. The best deals are for travel on Mondays and Tuesdays on Delta.

My swearing privileges have been revoked =\

Ha
I wondered about that. Then i started thinking about who is our MVP so far this year. I think its Jeff Francouer, he is leading the team in RBI’s. This new stance is great, what a difference!

Enjoy the trip. I’ve always wanted to go back to Germany since I don’t remember what it was like living there.
Also good to know I’m one of the regulars who does as little as possible around here.

That's not true
You are leading the cause to convince everyone that Jeff Bennett has been horribly lucky and unlucky at the same time. This takes time and effort, my friend.

Good time to go to Europe. The weather’s OK, and the tourists shouldn’t be there in droves until June. Have a good trip, gondeee.

I lived in Chandler, AZ for two years, I am so glad to be back in California.
