Bmacbandwagon - April 9, 2009
Tommy Hanson, Johnny Venters, Edgar Osuna, and Richard Sullivan starting today.
cbwilk - April 9, 2009
4Ks so far for Hanson
Bmacbandwagon - April 9, 2009
Hanson gets 2 K’s to get out of jam in first, and so far has 2 K’s after a leadoff triple in this inning.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
Make it 3
Strikes out the side…nice recovery after the triple.
VegasAces - April 9, 2009
strikes out the side after a leadoff triple.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
He sure is throwing a lot of pitches though
Bmacbandwagon - April 9, 2009
Tony Shiavane is ready for ESPN Sunday night
he’s getting mixed up frequently.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
Who the hell plays a baseball game at 11:15 AM?
sdp - April 9, 2009
Gwinnett Braves, and Charlotte Knights
10-4 - April 9, 2009
pwned
yondaime4 - April 9, 2009
SWAGGA with a sac fly, followed by a 2 run homer by Barbaro!
10-4 - April 9, 2009
Wasn’t Barbaro a race horse?
Bmacbandwagon - April 9, 2009
Yep. He had to be put down though after breaking a leg.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
lol
These redneck commercial spots.
sdp - April 9, 2009
10-4 - April 9, 2009
HANSON
4.1 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 10 SO
sdp - April 9, 2009
They've got him on a pitch count, obviously.
sdp - April 9, 2009
Wrong.
He obviously got the call up to big leagues.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
+1
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
Barbaro with his third hit.
Those Gwinnett cougars are gonna be lining up for him.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
LOL
gondeee - April 9, 2009
Anyone know how Hanson’s command looks? I see he has two walks…
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
From what I was hearing earlier, he had some first inning jitters(which is when I think he issued both his walks) and it took 25 pitches to get out of the 2nd inning, but for the most part I think he was staying ahead of hitters, they were just working the count on him
Bmacbandwagon - April 9, 2009
Blanco with 4 K's
Ouch.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
That’s not handling the demotion very well.
gondeee - April 9, 2009
Oh, well.
Schafer’s hit twice as many homers as Blanco had all season long in just three games.
sdp - April 9, 2009
The Golden Sombrero
jeg - April 9, 2009
Medlen with 3 IP so far with 4 K’s and no baserunners allowed.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
final line
3 2/3, no hits, no walks
10-4 - April 9, 2009
We certainly could have used Kris yesterday.
Hahaha…
timmy3 - April 9, 2009
Some good news
Reds just took a 4-3 lead over the Mets in the 3rd. Oliver Perez (pitch count: 52) is on the hill for NY. Joey Votto has the big hit so far with a three run homer
VegasAces - April 9, 2009
So much for that...
Delgado ties it up on an RBI forceout.
VegasAces - April 9, 2009
Perez's line:
4.1 IP, 5 H 8 R (all earned), 5 BB, 7 K, 1 HR allowed
Here’s to hoping he throws up craptastic performaces like that all year long.
Now 8-4 Reds, bottom 5
VegasAces - April 9, 2009
There's very little doubt in my mind that he will.
I’m so glad we didn’t go after him.
timmy3 - April 9, 2009
The funniest part was reading a majority of the Mets fans try to explain how that signing was better than the Lowe signing.
The Mets fans who actually know their stuff said otherwise, of course.
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
Worst money the Mets have ever spent this side of Bobby Bonilla.
gondeee - April 9, 2009
i dunno. he had a .850+ OPS in every season with them except the first. I don’t remember what they were paying him though.
yondaime4 - April 9, 2009
Gwinnett gets the W
Link to the box score. Medlan picked up the win and Cougar Bait Canizares had three hits including a homer. Conrad and Hernandez pitched in two hits each, and Boscan scored two runs.
SWAGGA was 0-2 but did walk twice.
Hanson’s 5:1 K:BB ratio looks fancy even in the smallest of sample sizes.
VegasAces - April 9, 2009
The 20.78 K/9 doesn't look too shabby either.
timmy3 - April 9, 2009
Two more than GA if I’m not mistaken.
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
he can’t walk. his calf hurts.
10-4 - April 9, 2009
funny
i dont think B Jones has a career .285avg or 350+ HR either.
bravesfansc - April 9, 2009
No, that’s not funny.
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
Don’t forget the sac fly from SWAGGA. Productive outs are fun!
10-4 - April 9, 2009
Meanwhile in Chicago
Our old pal Kyle Davies has thrown up the following line so far:
5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K, 75 pitches
VegasAces - April 9, 2009
And then the next time he goes out...
2.1 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 5 BB, 2 K, 68 pitches
sdp - April 9, 2009
Evil Davies!
10-4 - April 9, 2009
haha, nice
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
Haha, this made me go back and read those old entries again. Good times.
soup du jour - April 9, 2009
I saw that. Dotel was awesome.
Smoltz's Beard - April 9, 2009
Cody Johnson just made it rain in at BB&T
Just hit his first home run down the LF line, to tie it up.
timmy3 - April 9, 2009
My oops it was down the RF line. =P
timmy3 - April 9, 2009
In case anybody was wondering about Jason Perry (and if you were, find something better to do), he’s signed with the Lancaster Barnstormers in the independent Atlantic League. Also saw that Paul Bush signed with the Sommerset Patriots in the same league.
