I was joined at today's game by Danny (aka RoyHobbs), who informed me that the Braves always lose when he goes to see them on the road. I firmly blame him for this loss.
But really, Kenshin Kawakami looked like he was going to breeze through the Reds and put up his best start, but that was before the Reds got their second and third looks at him and were able to run up eight on the board. The Braves offense was once again stifled by Micah Owings, who seems to reserve his best games for Atlanta.
Enough about the loss, here are some pictures from today's game:
Javier Vazquez and Jo-Jo Reyes get some work in before the game. Looking on are Eddie Perez and Roger McDowell, and in the corner is Derek Lowe. He seemed to be watching Vazquez pretty intently.
Brian McCann's sight is apparently good enough to sign some autographs before the game.
I really enjoy watching Yunel Escobar swing the bat.
Kawakami stretches out on the mound during his delivery. To me that seems like a really big stride.
A look at Mark Bowman and David O'Brien in the booth (middle row).
And finally, eat your heart out as, for the second day in a row, I catch a batter, this time Brandon Jones, breaking his bat. The business end of the bat actually went into the crowd and drew some blood from some onlooker's head.
The Braves head home to Atlanta to close out April against the Cardinals, starting tomorrow.

DOB and Bowman look like a happy couple.

I got home a little late to Atlanta last night, so my own pictures and words will be up either here and/or Red Reporter within the next few days or so.

And for the record, the Braves are 3-5 in away games where I’ve been in the stands. Two of those wins were against the Washington Natinals, but unfortunately so were four of those losses. The other 1-1 was the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
As well as AAA-Braves, they are 0-4 in my presence, in both Richmond and Gwinnett.
I’m bad luck!

I’m sure it didn’t help when I was at that same Nats game…the Braves have a tendency to suck balls when I see them in person as well.

Heart doesn’t taste so good, ya know. :) But definitely more palatable while looking at these awesome pictures. I can’t believe you got two shots of a bat breaking! And I can never get a good stretch shot of a pitcher like that. Super.
