In reading up on our new outfield acquisition, Brian Barton, I came across this Viva El Birdos Fan Post that refers to him as "Crabman." Naturally this is a reference to that guy on My Name is Earl, who was even better in the role of Rubber Band Man -- apparently he's typecast as "something-man" in every role he's in, not a bad gig.
A pretty decent resemblance. The both sort-a have the same hair, and they certainly have the same goofy smile.
My initial thought about the trade yesterday was, "that Barton kid killed us last year, didn't he?" Well, sort-a, kind-a. He only played one series against us, three games, he was 4-for-5 with a double, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored. He totally reminds me of Michael Tucker -- light power, good speed, decent bat. The guys at Viva El Birdos seem to think he's more than a smidge better than Garret Anderson -- not hard to disagree there. He'll be a good dynamic guy with good speed to have in case someone in the outfield goes down.
When Sid Slid has a good overview of Barton's career as a prospect.
I'm also borrowing stealing the poll from VEB.

I don't think the resemblance is too striking
But I love the character, so whatever. Incidentally, my Gamecocks had a third baseman named James Darnell who we all called Crabman. It’s an awesome nickname.

Leave it to bigjoe to post the gayest possible picture out of all the potential lookalikes out there.

Brian Barton
This Braves fan can’t wait to check out Brian Barton in his Braves uniform!
I hope he adds some excitement in the outfield and with his bat!
Go Barton, Go Braves!
I hope the Braves win tonight, last night’s one run loss brought back many bad memories from last year!
Am I the only female on here? Just wandering…

There are quite a few girls that post regularly.

How do you misspell the word three times?

Is this like, the only participation you’re ever going to do? I’m looking at all your past comments and all you do is kick the community when they’re already down, and don’t bother to actually engage in any participation.

The button got used already!
I’d also like to add something I noticed a while back: it seems like this guy always tries to get the last comment in each thread, and like you pointed out, it’s always something of the Debbie Downer variety. Also, it rarely makes sense.
