Norfolk 7, Gwinnett 4
Brandon Jones shows a little swagga in this game and getting his AVG up to .276 on the season. Canizares continues to hit the ball well as he is hitting .389 on the season with 6 XBH in 36 AB. Morton wasn't nearly as sharp this time around, though I can't expect much of an improvement over last game.
Mississippi 6, Huntsville 7
Everyone had a hit except for Hernandez and Hicks who both struck out 3 times. In case you were keeping up that is 16 in 35 AB for hicks. Not really all that good unless you are trying to set a record or something. Cofield put up good numbers last season, but his walk rate is really high (66 in 116 IP last year) and I am not convinced he can keep Russ Ortizing his way through games. Also Stephen Marek gave up 2 runs in the 9th to lose the game. Do we have any bullpen arms anywhere that are doing well?
Myrtle Beach 7, Potomac 5
Freeman came out of the game in the 4th inning. I don't know what for but I'll do what I cn to find out. Cody Johnson now has 8 hits this season and 7 of them are XBH. I'll take that with his Ks. And he isn't even striking out half as much as Hicks. Nothing doing for Heyward tonight.
Charleston 4, Rome 5
It is hard for me to get excited about anyone that carries a bat to work on this team. They have 3 homers as a team and one of those is from David Ross when he was rehabbing. The other two are obviously Mr. Campusano up there. I feel it will be a long season for Rome unless their pitching is spectacular.

It was...
college night in Rome. It’s good they won! But you’re right, not very much offense.

Will somebody please get Canizares some greenies and an energy drink?
If he could move a little quicker … maybe his D would improve, and he could compete/platoon w/ Kotch.
I keed! I keed!

You’d have to stick a rocket up his ass. That dude is slow.

Seriously. I watched him chugging for like five minutes across the bases after hitting his homerun tonight.

btw
Canizares’s second hit shouldn’t have been a hit. Justin Turner got a glove on the ball, but it just slipped out of his glove, and should’ve been an obvious E4.

Freddy Freeman . . .
All is well with FF . . . Rocket pulled him for not running out a fly ball.

Then it sounds like all is not well.

I don’t like the sounds of that.

What's the story on Cole Rohrbough being DL'd?
And I see that JJ Hoover got the promotion and the start

I think it’s something with his arm. I’m not sure what, or how serious, but he didn’t make the trip to Potomac with the team. But none of the other DL guys did either, so take what you will from that.
