Derek Lowe takes the mound for his final spring training appearance before he opens up the season on the mound in Philadelphia. The game is supposed to be televised on CSS, which is Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.
Totally random, but am I the only one that thinks the AL West needs another team? Like maybe from the NL Central? I just think it would make things more fair. The Angels basically have it won every year, adn that’s pathetic/bullshit.
Say what you want about Corky, but that guy has played in the Bigs for three teams. As much as I like JC, he can’t say that. He can’t even say he’s played for one.
A little bit. In a career spanning from 97-08, JC has played a total of 108 AAA games over the course of 6 different seasons, getting his most time with Richmond in 2005, where he played 72 games and hit a robust .222 (which, ironically enough, is his lifetime average). He’s obviously a career backup, since he’s averaged just 69 games a season for his career.
Like I said, JC is a fine minor league backup, but he’s got nothing on Cory Miller.
Personally im an ump. I just do highschool games and umps have huge egos, and if they were to incorporate instant replay I dont think they would be to happy.
Oh, I know. All I’m saying is, they aren’t fucking God. They make mistakes occasionally. On a close BASE CALL (not other calls) a manager should be allowed one challenge of instant replay a game.
I’ve seen too many games get decided by an ump making a shitty call. It’s Two Thousand and Fucking Nine. And I’m Kenny Powers.
With that instant replay u will lose a lot of the excitment from the managers getting pissed and then getting tossed. But dude I totally agree with you Umps miss a lot of calls at first and Home.
bump the excitement. it will save someone a freaking heart attack
If they wouldn’t allow 1 challenge per game for each team, then they might as well all go out and buy a Hummer to compensate for more than their small pee pees.
I really just want what’s best for JS in the long run. But I think he’s ready. Plus, it sounded like he’d won the job when they were interviewing FW earlier.
Any time we play the Astros, it reminds me of that game a few years back that started around 7, and ended at like 4 in the morning. It was nuts. And we lost by one run. lmao. I about got nuts that night. Actually, I did.
Their starting pitcher was taking names, and GAnderson kind of swung our momentum early in teh game when he dropped a fly ball on the first play of the game. Sometimes, thats all it takes.
But you can tell teh guys are waiting to step it up a notch on Sunday.
Stream please.

Almost a Collision in center with Michael Bourne and Hunter Pence. Garret Anderson on third he was flyin around those bases.
That a boy - March 31, 2009

Probably not the right verb. More like trudging or slogging.

Haha. Not really. Come on. 8 P 8 ))
Frenchy is back on the ball.
Totally random, but am I the only one that thinks the AL West needs another team? Like maybe from the NL Central? I just think it would make things more fair. The Angels basically have it won every year, adn that’s pathetic/bullshit.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
I think Okalnd is better then the Angels this year. Two of their top pitchers might start the season on the DL.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Yeah...probably
Instead of adding a team to the NL West, we should just get rid of a couple of teams. My picks would be the Nats and Padres.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
oooh!! oooh!!! oooh!!!! How 'bout this?
Axe the Nats (with fucking pleasure) and move the Pirates to the NL East………
interesting….haha
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Would that mean...
We could send Philly to the NL Central?
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
Nah. Keep Phillie. I like roughing them up.
Then all divisions in teh NL have 5 teams. problem somewhat solved.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Ok.
As long as we’re rid of them pesky nats…
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
1 today 2 yesterday bring up Heyward!!! 7th inning stretch 5-3 Astros.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
HAITHCOCK IN TO PITCH!!!!!!!!
sdp - March 31, 2009
Boscan grounds out to first. Has he gotten a hit this spring??
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Or any spring?
cbwilk - March 31, 2009
He is still probally a lot better then that Corkey guy.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
lmao. I can remember the one big hit Corky had early in teh season
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
He got a hit o shit!!! I missed that one.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
he had a pretty good hit against the Cubbies
I think it was against Dempster on ESPN Wednesday night baseball – he hit a HR!
justincredubil02 - April 1, 2009
Say what you want about Corky, but that guy has played in the Bigs for three teams. As much as I like JC, he can’t say that. He can’t even say he’s played for one.
cbwilk - April 1, 2009
Can JC even say he’s played at AAA?
10-4 - April 1, 2009
A little bit. In a career spanning from 97-08, JC has played a total of 108 AAA games over the course of 6 different seasons, getting his most time with Richmond in 2005, where he played 72 games and hit a robust .222 (which, ironically enough, is his lifetime average). Like I said, JC is a fine minor league backup, but he’s got nothing on Cory Miller.
cbwilk - April 1, 2009
Yes.
Jurrjens smacked him pretty good the other day.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
I like BJones.
He’s so cool.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
I love Brandon Jones

Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Brandon jones is the man. Single up the middle 2 outs Infante up to bat.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Come on O
When this guy heats up, he heats up
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Man...
Brian Jordan is not good.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
haha. I know, right. He's the man and everything, but he doesnt have a knack for it
Give us more JOE AND BOOG, damn it
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Pete!!!
Calling Pete Van Wieren!!
Little Lady - March 31, 2009

Little Lady - March 31, 2009

Little Lady - March 31, 2009

Gorkys needs minor leagues…..cool name and everything…..I was excited……but nada
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Is that his first ST game? i dont remember seeing him in another one
drumzalicious - April 1, 2009
no
I think he’s been in a couple of others.
Little Lady - April 1, 2009
8-3 Astros 8th inning.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
AndruwLittle Lady - March 31, 2009
See, I haven't talked shit about this ump.
He’s been consistent. we need more of that from umps
AND BASEBALL NEEDS TO INCORPORATE AN INSTANT REPLAY RULE LIKE FOOTBALL. A MANAGER CAN CHALLENGE ONE BASE CALL A GAME.
Is that not genius? It’s just too fucking easy. But that will never f-ing happen.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Personally im an ump. I just do highschool games and umps have huge egos, and if they were to incorporate instant replay I dont think they would be to happy.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
.......................lol.
Oh, I know. All I’m saying is, they aren’t fucking God. They make mistakes occasionally. On a close BASE CALL (not other calls) a manager should be allowed one challenge of instant replay a game.

bravesguy311 - March 31, 2009
Poor Greg White...
he’s just not that good.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
Take that back. He's the man. Trust me.
Slow start.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
I most certainly will not!
:p
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
rrrrrrrrrrr.
Greg White shall return. He’s got the eye of a damned killer. Go BLANCO!!!! It’s great to have him around if anything should happen…
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Like I said...
My heart belongs to Jordan Schafer. Not that I’m rooting against Senor White…
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
He still might get the nod in Center.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
I trust the Braves to make the right decision.
Translation: I’m paying 5 bucks to go to opening night…and if Schafer isn’t starting in CF, I’ll be pissed.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
Me too little Lady but Bobby is very careful with his young players. He never puts to much pressure on them!!
That a boy - March 31, 2009
I know.
I really just want what’s best for JS in the long run. But I think he’s ready. Plus, it sounded like he’d won the job when they were interviewing FW earlier.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
True he didn’t mention Gregor at all!!
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Oh, I'm all for Schafer too. But it's nice to have Blanco.
He’ll get back in the rythym. (damn i hate spelling that word, no clue)
WBC fucked everyone up. But Blanco cleaned up during that shite.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Shit David Ross has a strained Groin.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Uh oh.
Let’s hope Ross is ok.
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
bring back Corky!
acie4mvp - March 31, 2009

Little Lady - March 31, 2009
Hold on give me 20 seconds to look that word up.
That a boy - March 31, 2009

Reminded me of ‘Mountains of the Moon’ by the Grateful Dead 8 ))
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
Whatcha got Gorkys?
Little Lady - March 31, 2009
Boscan is bad just bad!
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Little bit 'o Diaz is better than no Diaz at all
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
8-3 FINAL ASTROS.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
You've all been great. Try the veal.
Any time we play the Astros, it reminds me of that game a few years back that started around 7, and ended at like 4 in the morning. It was nuts. And we lost by one run. lmao. I about got nuts that night. Actually, I did.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
i think that was the day game
the 18 inning one? more recently than that, dude
dc_allday - March 31, 2009
Or the game that we lost in the Playoffs to the Astros in Houston!!
That a boy - March 31, 2009
haha (goes back to the bad place)
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
How the fuck did we lose to the Astros? They’ve won like 6 games all spring. Thats embarrassing.
bigjoe - March 31, 2009
Haha. It happens.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
10
now actually. According to my data
acie4mvp - March 31, 2009
But yeah, I've never cared for the Astros
Their starting pitcher was taking names, and GAnderson kind of swung our momentum early in teh game when he dropped a fly ball on the first play of the game. Sometimes, thats all it takes.
But you can tell teh guys are waiting to step it up a notch on Sunday.
I. Want. Phillie. Bad.
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
I want philly to especially since we won’t have to face Hamels.
That a boy - March 31, 2009
Bring Hamels. Bring whoever. I. Want. Phillie. I. Really. Really. Really. Hate the Thillies
Chief Noc-A-Homa - March 31, 2009
I really hope all these recent losses aren’t the Braves getting ready for the regular season.
