Every other Friday this off-season Talking Chop presents the Atlanta Braves fan confidence poll. This poll and therefore your confidence level should encompasses several areas of the team. These areas include, but are not limited to, the team’s ownership, current management, talent, minor-league system, general playing ability on the field, and of course during the off-season, how our off-season is going. The poll will stay open for 48 hours, and then the results will be posted and graphed against the previous weeks.

Amazing!
That it’s mostly 7-8-9, The Braves haven’t signed anyone who is a big hitter or resigned Laroche or Gonzo or Soriano. The only rumors I’ve heard on trades is they are trying to get rid of Lowe, but I don’t think that Lowe will net us anything except maybe releasing some of his salary for other players. I don’t think we’ll get out of all his salary, but you never know. Don’t know if Chipper will be back to his old form, certainly can’t count on it, though I hope he is. We still have Mac and I believe Diaz is going to have a very good 2010. But if we lose those 3,Gonzo,Soriano and Roach, the Braves are going to have some big gaps to fill and will still need at least 2 impact bats to compensate for the loss. Those who are putting high hopes on Hayward or Schafer are hoping on the unproven. And what to do about the bullpen? Then on top of everthing Bobby is coming back to manage 1 more year, I’m not enthused,I voted 5 and will until good things start to happen and the 1st is resign Laroche and at least Gonzo.

You forgot Escobar and Prado
I have a little more confidence than you jimmontg, but I know how you feel. But, I think Frank Wren will do some serious wheeling and dealing this off-season. The bullpen is what worries me without Gonzo or Soriano. Can we get replacements as good for the same or less pay? I mean really, can we? If we can’t, then resign them both if we get rid of Lowe. Chipper is a big unknown for now, but I think he will turn it around. I agree about Diaz, just have a feeling about him, I think he’s going to be awesome in 2010 if Bobby lets him play enough. I’m not crazy about Bobby coming back unless we get some oustanding hitters he’ll cost us some games.I think the Braves will make some good trades and deals, I voted 7.

Has anyone heard about Brian McCann' eye surgery lately?

no, i havent
but that’s probably a good thing. I tend to believe no news is good news in regards to surgery.

About Chipper
I don’t think he will let himself play if he is unable to compete at the level he think he can. I think his PRIDE will not let him. If he doesnt hang it up, that means he THINK he can still compete.
