Looks like KC also signed Wilson Betemit, or Bate-a-MEAT as he’s called on ESPN. Good luck to both of them. Jorge was a pretty good pitcher, all things considered.
Maybe they’ll find that situation unsuitable and will trade us Greinke for somebody who’s about to get cut. You know, cut out the middle man of free agency.
Who would of liked to see Campillo remain with the Braves. Unlike Carlyle, his stuff is atleast capable of getting major league hitters out consistently.
but you can't blame him for taking a more certain path...
to the bigs. It’d be much easier for him to make the club, and particularly the rotation, in Kansas City than it would be here obviously. I’d have liked to bring him back too, but you can’t blame a guy for taking the situation that is in his best interests.
Agreed. I like Jorge and would love to see him stay here, but he has to think of himself and the opportunities in KC are better than they are here. He’s a good pitcher, but the Braves have lots of good pitchers; KC, not so much. I wish him well.
i’m still in shock they let Buddy get to Japan.

They've already got a scout there just to watch him in '10 I bet.
The Keith Lockhart Era - November 20, 2009
Low risk, high reward. Good signing for KC.
Yakker - November 20, 2009
I hope they sign Norton soon too so there is no chance of him returning to Atlanta.
redwards95 - November 20, 2009
think they would take DLowe?

Brilliant!

Make the call, Frank. Tell ’em they can have JoJo Reyes and Manny Acosta too!
Scott Coleman - November 20, 2009
We could trade them for Jorge Campillo!

GoBravesNY - November 22, 2009
why bother to drink anything else?
Lizziebeth - November 25, 2009
We couldn’t use him in the bullpen?
TradeAndruw - November 20, 2009
What was Campillo...
…a Class D free agent?

John Holton - November 20, 2009
Seriously
I think in the next few years we may just see a Royals team built entirely of Braves cast-offs and Zack Greinke.
Andy Braves Fan - November 20, 2009
makes you feel pretty bad for Greinke...
do they sign Andruw and Nick Green too this off season?
Mr. Sanchez - November 20, 2009
Haha, might have worked a little better taking our castoffs when we were winning pennants
Still flattering, but it’s getting a little stalky.

SmithnCompany - November 20, 2009
Yeah, but, unlike Carlyle, he barely played this season. So who really knows what he can do?

exactly, he can be, at best, a middle reliever here...
while if he does well as a starter there this year, he can better position himself for a contract next year.
Mr. Sanchez - November 21, 2009
Still got one of the nastiest change-ups in the biz.
The Keith Lockhart Era - November 21, 2009
Campillo was a fluke.
Just a one-year wonder.
