Chipper Jones is hitting fifth between Pujols and Holliday... not a bad spot.
Brian McCann should get in there at some point -- his third consecutive All-Star game. I wonder what Jeff Francoeur thinks of that. By the way, McCann has already equaled last year's homerun total.

Is this the kind of production we should expect from McCann on a yearly basis from now on. He is flashing 30+ homer power with the .300 avg. Is this for real? or is he a 20+ power guy.
gopherbroke - July 15, 2008
Yes
i would say he is gonna avg out at around 27 a year, he doesnt have Mike Piazza power, so he isnt a 30+ pr 40+ kinda guy. but he has more power potential than 20 a year. He’ll be around 30 every year , but probably never hit more than 35, which isnt a bad thing. but i think he can definately hit 300 consistently
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008
I sense a change in his approach...
maybe it’s confidence that comes from success so far in his young career…maybe it’s urgency to carry a heavier load as a multiple all-star…but for whatever reason Heap is looking ‘go yard’ with at least 1 or 2 swings every AB. Nice result so far eh? Up in homers, and doubles (famous triple), and keeping his BA in tact!

Has anyone ever hit Homers from both sides of the plate in an All-Star Game? Chipper takes Lee deep in the first with Utley, and Berkman on base.
gopherbroke - July 15, 2008
Anybody watching the red carpet dealy?

Should tell all the whining AL closers to shove it, and have Joakim Soria go in the 9th.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I wonder who's umping
It should be Angel Hernandez, and then he’ll bait Francona into coughing, and toss him, so that Girardi can take over duties as manager of the game.

Brian McCann would’ve made that play.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
nice strikeout hamilton. francoeur would have driven him home.

bigjoe - July 15, 2008
Nice health, Sheets
Mike Hampton would have injured himself by now.
gondeee - July 15, 2008
We might have a substitution at catcher!
davesawyer - July 15, 2008
Manny did that on purpose
Little does he realize that Soto’s replacement is a far, FAR better catcher… and I’m not talking about Russell Martin.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Manny doesn’t think enough to be able to do anything on purpose.
10-4 - July 15, 2008
BTW, I just found this blog a few weeks ago. Where has it been all my life. Best Braves coverage on the net.

EA has the best ass. But Jamie Kotsay has huge bombs, so that’s a plus.
davesawyer - July 15, 2008

royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Since we have the lead...

royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Didn't Wood not want to pitch?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008

royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Well, starters can't win the ASG, right?
because they don’t make it to the 5th
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
Good point
Wasn’t paying attention, so the win would go to Haren for being the pitcher of record at the end of the 5th.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Hideki Matsui
Might be out for the season. This might make the Yanks more interesting in Tex.
NEBravesFan33 - July 15, 2008
What would they give up?
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
They only have 2 position players worthy imho.
Austin Jackson
Jesus Montero
cgilmo78 - July 15, 2008
I’m sure Austin Jackson and Phil Hughes would be off limits, but Jesus Montero would be a must if I am Frank Wren.
NEBravesFan33 - July 15, 2008
Jesus Montero has a higher ceiling than Austin Jackson
cgilmo78 - July 15, 2008

royhobbs - July 15, 2008
cgilmo78
I agree, and we do have a ton of OF’s in the minors. I want a pitcher back in that deal, but I don’t really like too many of them. Any ideas?
NEBravesFan33 - July 15, 2008
I don’t like any high profile pitcher the yankees have. I do like Ryan Pope, but he would be more of a throw in guy. Phil Coke projects to be a pretty good reliever.
Jesus Montero is by far my favorite Yankee farmhand, his bat is special.
cgilmo78 - July 15, 2008
Realistically though, I don’t think Teixeria fits the yankees needs.
cgilmo78 - July 15, 2008

even when the camera showed Longoria in the dugout, and then showed the lineup card that still had Longoria’s name as available
frozen rope - July 15, 2008
It's because he didn't want to hype Desperate Housewives
it’s not on the Fox family of networks
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
Joe Buck
Also said that nobody was a hotter hitter than Dustin Pedroia, despite there being about seven guys on the same bench with a higher average
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
He didn't mean that kind of hot.
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
maybe if joe buck liked baseball, he might sound a little more competent
skipcaray - July 15, 2008

royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Uncontested steal comes back to hurt...
Maybe xtra innings means that McCann will get in the game

BILLY WAGNER = EPIC FAIL!
EVAN IS GOD

Francona: “tie game, in the 9th, Rodriguez is in.”

“oh shit!!! I forgot! !!!! I said rivera’s going in!!!”
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I'm surprised
That the umpire doesn’t have an Eric Gregg strike zone for Rivera.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
nice DP
maybe McCann-time?
jug - July 15, 2008
Gotta be. He's put everyone in but him.
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
Freaking awesome.
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
I can’t take another AL victory. At least give BMac a shot. . .
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Now the AL will win it in the 9th and all we will hear about....
for the next 48 hours on ESPN (and everyone other sports show) is how Rivera came in and got the outs to get the win…...
frozen rope - July 15, 2008
Kinsler, Navarro, and then JD effing Drew
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
JD walkoff, wins MVP, Mariano gets the win. It’s like a double negative.

NO!
jjcollins - July 15, 2008
I feel like he forgot about him
what other explanation is there?
atlbravos - July 15, 2008
Come on now
Andruw got no-used in 2006, and McCann got garbage time last year. Braves getting snubbed in the All-star game is nothing new.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
some sort of law about bearded men playing in the all stat game at yankee stadium?
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008
wow im drunk
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008

Swo12bv - July 15, 2008

royhobbs - July 15, 2008

atlbravos - July 15, 2008
If we make in to the 10th....
surely he will let McCann pinch hit for Mart (due up 2nd)
frozen rope - July 15, 2008
Do the Rockies come to Atlanta again this year? Because I will boo Hurdle like no one else
jjcollins - July 15, 2008
Rockies
Haven’t come to the Ted yet . . . Sept 9-11
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Does Buck not realize we are playing AL rules....
Francona does not need any more bench players unless an injury occurs, which in the All Star game, I believe someone can sub back in for. He does not have to pinch hit for the pitcher or anything.
frozen rope - July 15, 2008
These Fox announcers are SO ANNOYING. I usually try to mute the tv, but the silence is deafening at 11;30 PM
jjcollins - July 15, 2008
can you get 680 the fan?
mcboyt - July 15, 2008
I’m in Marietta, just tried to pick it up at my house, but all static :(
jjcollins - July 15, 2008
When the Braves played LA, I got to watch the games on the Dodger feed. Vin Scully was calling them. Talk about great. These guys are nothing to him.
skipcaray - July 15, 2008
I actually appreciate Vin. Like when he calls Orlando Hudson “The O-Dogg”
jjcollins - July 15, 2008
YES! Sit down!

Three more innings
And it’s a tie game!

royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Well the showed McCann and he was holding a bat....
maybe, just maybe, he will pinch hit for Martin and hit a HR, and win MVP
frozen rope - July 15, 2008
I actually told a guy tonight at work McCann would be the MVP, after hitting a game winning homer in the 9th off Rivera (he’s a Yankees fan). He laughed for about 20 min. So maybe its not that big of a long shot.
jjcollins - July 15, 2008
Oh man
BMac vs. Mo

Too bad the results are never the same.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
acosta is from panama, just like rivera, i bet he idolized him coming up
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008
exactly
Which is why I theorize that he does it.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
if only he could throw a cutter, like rivera
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008
Rivera was giving lessons earlier

Imagine Roy Halladay
With the cutter. He would have 25 complete games by season’s end.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008

So am I being out of line or do I have a point?
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 15, 2008
how fucking much has the NL east sucked tonight?
bigjoe - July 15, 2008
Wagner = Fail
Wright = Fail
Uggla = Vidro/Fail
Utley = 1st inning E4 no matter what Joe Buck says = FAIL
Chipper 1/3 = Great success
Heap = untested
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
chipper also struck out. guzman pinch ran, and got thrown out stealing
bigjoe - July 15, 2008

2 for 3 to go along with Chipper

but he had an error
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008
Chipper was one for three
And unlike Utley, didn’t have no problems on the defensive side. So maybe 4/5 of the East is a screw up but not all of it.

You’re about as a joke as your manager. Pathetic
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 15, 2008
aaron cook got two groundballs so far he hasnt done anything bad
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008
the marlins have 3 errors in this game and they only have two players
Swo12bv - July 15, 2008

He's a joke man
no way around it, if the NL loses it’s all on Cook and Hurdle for their screw ups
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 16, 2008
explain to me what aaron cook has done wrong. he’s gotten 3 ground balls directly at fielders.
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
would u read what i wrote and think like a human being for a second, i want Heap in but not playing him isnt why the NL is losing, and Aaron Cook did his job, unfortunately Uggla is a horrible 2B
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
also so far Hurdle has managed the hell out of this situation wlaking th ebases loaded has ultimately resulted in two outs
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
+1
I feel bad for Cook, because his nuts are on the line as Losing Pitcher because Uggla blows.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
i say again aaron cook hasnt done anything bad, acutally u did what was expected of him get two groundballs, that should have resulted in outs, hence the error
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
on the bright side, at least its keeping heap fresh and not fucking with his confidence like its done uggla and wagner
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
Bad time
But look at the bright side. This is the kind of crap that can ruin Duggla’s psyche for the remainder of the season, and the Marlins will lose one of their cornerstones.

atlbravos - July 16, 2008
but he wouldnt have made two errors
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
I don't want
Heap to make nice after this game. He needs to BLAST Hurdle for this Bullshit!
scstrato - July 16, 2008
wont happen, Heap is too classy
Chipper might do it tho to protect his teammate
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Can’t you just imagine Heap doing a post-game tirade in the clubhouse? That would be hilarious!
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
Heap: “I’LL TEAR THIS FUCKING TOMB DOWN MYSELF THREE MONTHS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE HOW DARE THAT GOD DAMN HURDLE NOT PLAY ME I’M THE FUCKING MVP”
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
I hope
That Uggla’s confidence is completely destroyed after tonight, and the Marlins begin their downward spiral due immediately.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
they dont teach defense to the MI in south florida so the errors wont do anythign, and Uggla is used to striking out he does it a lot, so im sure he’ll be “fine”
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
i have not seen one jack bauer ad. how is this possible?
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
Nice Adrian.
That is why the Padres suck.
jug - July 16, 2008
I sware
If I saw Hurdle right now, he would get such a beatdown. Completely lost any respect i had for him tonight.
Francona = class act
Hurdle = a joke that doesn’t know how to win the big game.
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 16, 2008
agreed. francona has done a good job. especially with all the a rod/jeter/rivera stuff.
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
excpet the AL has no bench players or pitchers left, so thats not exavtly smart, while Hurdle (while he hasnt played Heap) has managed a great game and has bench guys left and a pitcher ot two
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
No question
and I thought he handled the playing time for each player very well (unlike Hurdle)
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 16, 2008
Eventhough I dislike the Yankees....
Francona was very classy with the way he removed ARod & Jeter. Give the crowd a chance to give them a standing o’.
Very nice gesture to his bitter rivals
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
The NL team reminds me a lot of the Braves....
can hit with runners in scoring position.
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
err...can't
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
ahhh
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
MARTIN STILL BEHIND AT THE PLATE
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
and Cook still pitching
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
oops
behind the plate, not behind at the plate
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Torre should be pissed...this is the 8th inning Martin has caught. So much for some time off
play a couple innings and rest some
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
at least heap is getting much needed rest i suppose
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
I still wonder if it is because he got hit over the weekend
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
could be. didn't think of that
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Makes sense now
Tire out the oppsition’s catcher for Hurdle. Get Martin out of game, or tire him more.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Game over
Sac bunt, sac fly, it’s over.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
longoria will win it
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
if they execute the AL and esp ALL stars arent used to small ball
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
its like im Nostradamus
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
C'mon tie...
Kazmir’s up… he’s the last one…
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
TBH
I actually want the AL to win now, the NL doesn’t deserve it.
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 16, 2008
ok?
jug - July 16, 2008
imo screw the rest of the NL if Mac can’t get even ONE at-bat in
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 16, 2008
Not sure if I would walk Marneau .... Kinsler has been hot lately....something
like a 20+ game hit streak, I think
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
gotta play the percentages and u technically have a better chance of getting the out if you can get the force at 2nd
but it doenst work when morneau takes 2nd
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
25 game hit steak....just looked it up
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
This feels like a Braves-Astros game.
jug - July 16, 2008
+1
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Can we PLEASE
See some Brian McCann now??
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Selig
enjoying the game, as always.
jug - July 16, 2008
god this Cook guy is the best pitcher at getting out of jams int he history of basbeall, he has plenty of practive im sure playing for the rockies but still
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
I still hope
That Brian McCann takes him deep several times when the Rockies come to town in September.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
4-4
3 HRs, 8 RBIs, 1 SB,
jug - July 16, 2008
+1
for the SB.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
someone remember that so when it happens Jug can reming us
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Screen grab it.
and replace the FUPA grab.
jug - July 16, 2008
what, this?
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
cook is awesome
pj16 - July 16, 2008
Can't bring Heap in here except to be new DH or replace Martin
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
Martin hits 6th the inning
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
Actually
This is the best opportunity for it. He could be new DH or PH for Guzman w. Martin to third.
scstrato - July 16, 2008
martin has played 3rd in 8 games this year
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
yeh hear that Joe Buck is right, Hurdle has done a good job managing the game
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
If the game would have ended in the 9th...
he would have had a lot of players that did not get to play. Francona was trying to get the most people he could in the game.
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
ya but thats not necessarily good managing thats good PR
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
I agree....but remember this should be just an exhibition game... no managing should be recquired
but Selig wanted to make it count…..
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
NL EAST!!!!!!
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
LOL
I forgot to include the one Nationals player during all those in-game stat posting.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
who the f*ck are the Nationals?
jug - July 16, 2008
minor league team
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Corey Hart
Is a viking.
jug - July 16, 2008
techno viking.
jug - July 16, 2008
He's also
A d-league All-Star, as voted on, on the last possible day.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Instead of calling the game a tie....
bring some of the position players back in to pitch… that will spice up the broadcast
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
Heap has a nasry slurve
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
that could be fun
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Martin still has his catchers equipment on...
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
they just showed mccann again and he looked despondant
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
So...
Do we just play until Bud Selig wants to go to bed, or what’s the deal?
jug - July 16, 2008
didnt u see the shot of him earlier its already bed time
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Just like Hank Aaron sleeping while Bonds fake-broke his record.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
+1
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Bonds did what-now?
jug - July 16, 2008
who?
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
They keep talking about Francona looking out for Kazmir
because he threw 104 pitches on Sunday. At what point should Hurdle look out for Martin, this will be what his ninth inning catching.
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
36 innings is th enbr i think
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Could New Yankee stadium
look any more similar to Old Yankee stadium?
jug - July 16, 2008
They could tear it down too
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
its a giant sharade, so they can charge more
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Why do you think...
I make no real rush to get to it? It’s Yankee Stadium this year, it’ll be Yankee Stadium next year, and so forth. Steinbrenners won’t let that change, as long as they own the team.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
George
did not look well this evening.
jug - July 16, 2008
If Mac isn't hitting the next inning
then I’ll call it night
ChipperTeixeira89 - July 16, 2008
promises… promises
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Brian McCann
could have made that play.
jug - July 16, 2008

Swo12bv - July 16, 2008

jug - July 16, 2008

bigjoe - July 16, 2008
Poor Uggla....everthing is being hit at him now
frozen rope - July 16, 2008

I think Yogi has seen better days
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
I will never, ever, ever
complain about Kelly Johnson’d defense again.
Amen
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
+10000000
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
the Nl doesnt have 4 errors the Marlins MI have 4 errors
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Uggla
Most errors by any player in an all-star game. That’s a record. Nice.
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
I'm still surprised that the announcers haven't noticed
that Mac hasn’t gone in. with all their talk about bullpen management, you think they’d have noticed
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
they’re too busy slurping martin
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
He is not named Varitek or Posada or anything other Yankee or Red Sox name....
that is all we would be hearing about if he were on either of those teams.
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
i gotta be awake in like 6 and a half hours, i dunno how much more i can take
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
just stay up!
jug - July 16, 2008
heap could've made that throw
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
BIGJOE
Remember survivor series 1990, team Hogan didn’t use Tugboat, because they were saving him as “the fresh man”???
This is so equivalent.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
i will hurt you in 3 weeks
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
hahaha
Why? I’m not the one making girlfriend or data jokes.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
ooooooooh
I feel obligated to say something here…
jug - July 16, 2008
heap could've made that throw
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
You mean, this is the last year
for Yankee Stadium?
jug - July 16, 2008
i had no idea
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
McLouth = MVP
...almost.
jug - July 16, 2008
DAMMIT NATE
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
I have officially given up hope on heap making it in the game
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Sherrill still pitching means no Heap
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
come on sherrill, hit him in the balls. then heap MUST come in
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
Nope
Heap will not play. There has got to be a reason. I am convinced.
jug - July 16, 2008
must be rest for his hand, courtesy sort of thing
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Yeah.. i am concerned about the wrist..... after getting hit this weekend
Hopefully he is just bruised or something, and the Braves asked for him not to play unless it was an emergency
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
What the hell
What happened to Tejada’s power? He used to be a 35+ homer hitter. Before the HGH and age controversies…nevermind.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Its like he aged...
2 years, practically overnight.
jug - July 16, 2008
oh snap
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Heap would have hit that out
then he would have stopped a mugging going on in the parking lot, and later prevented an asteroid from crashing into Earth.
He’s good like that
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
possibly cure cancer and have a baby with a native of another planet
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
He cured cancer last week
FDA hasn’t approved it yet though.
true story
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
you mean he hasn’t done that already?
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
my bad im outta the superhero problem fixing loop
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
nice play
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
heap coulda made it tho
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Heap is so awesome
Pujols looks up to him
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
Let’s not get carried away.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
I SWEAR TO GOD
If B-Mac doesn’t play….Sept 9th-11th is BOOOO CLINT HURDLE days at The Ted.
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
agreed.
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
I’m thinking about planning a trip to Atlanta just to boo Hurdle for that series.
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
B-WEBB!
jug - July 16, 2008
Re-arrange "Webb"
And you can get “BEWB”
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
+1
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
kewl!
jug - July 16, 2008
huh
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
I would trade John Smoltz
for Brandon Webb.
jug - July 16, 2008
I would trade Mike Hampton
for Brandon Webb.
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
I would trade Mike Hampton
for 10 bats.
jug - July 16, 2008
I'm going to pretend
you were drunk when you wrote that!
Lizziebeth - July 16, 2008
about Smoltzie.
and when you used who?’s real name.
Pujols….you must’ve been hittin’ the Jack pretty hard…
Lizziebeth - July 16, 2008
Brad Lidge sighting.
jug - July 16, 2008
I'm staying up for the postgame
just so i can find out what the deal with heap is
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
So how long will Selig let the game go now that Kazmir is in the game
last AL pitcher and he just pitched 104 pitches on Sunday
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
Uggla
continues his dominance.
jug - July 16, 2008
has anyone ever gotten a golden sombrero in an ASG
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Uggla will be on suicide watch after this game
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
No need to watch him
Otherwise, he might be stopped.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
I hope he finds some razor blades
or a good strong rope
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
OMP
I hope Francona forfeits.
jug - July 16, 2008
They should end this game with penalty kicks
or a home run derby or something
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
+1
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
then we can hear the josh hamilton story agian
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Roy
remember those times where you talk about putting things off because of baseball?
My dog has been about to go outside for about 6 innings now.
jug - July 16, 2008
LOL
My dog finally reached breaking point an inning ago.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Oh crap, I just realized I let my dog outside
in the seventh inning!
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
One of your neighbors is the proud owner of a new dog
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Yeah, we just went out.
couldn’t make him wait any longer.
jug - July 16, 2008
I have to be at work in seven hours.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
I'm so glad I'm off tomorrow
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
i have to get up for work in 5 1/2.....
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
I bet if we have a play at the plate this inning, the call will be an automatic safe
as this game is about to be another tie. Kazmir can’t pitch much longer
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
FINALLY
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
BRIAN MCCANN IS IN
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
HEAP!!!!!!!
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
Finally!
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
HEAP!!!!!!!!!!!
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
Hey McCann is finally in the game
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
at 1:30 fucking a.m. that's bullshit, though.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
aren't you glad you stayed up?
jug - July 16, 2008
honestly, no
unless McCann contributes to a go-ahead run/hit
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Yeah
I will not, if Lidge screws this up.
jug - July 16, 2008
its fake, they are gonna pull him in a second
Swo12bv - July 16, 2008
Heap will save the day for us
If Lidge doesn’t fuck it up first
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
He will not get an AB though as Lidge is also in the game
frozen rope - July 16, 2008
that was dramatic
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
great catch
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
Ludwick?!
wow.
jug - July 16, 2008
Nice catch by the kid nobody ever heard of
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
cueing up blown.gif...
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
yup
jug - July 16, 2008
good block
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
Poor Heap
He gets no warm-up innings, no adrenaline, he’s in absolutely cold. Screw Hurdle
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
can mccann pitch?
jug - July 16, 2008
come on young, END THIS
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
goof play by mac though
atlbravos - July 16, 2008

atlbravos - July 16, 2008
NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
jug - July 16, 2008
Told you they would call him safe....
frozen rope - July 16, 2008

frozen rope - July 16, 2008
+1
You were spot on with that one
Rhyno18 - July 16, 2008
oh thank god i can go to bed now
bigjoe - July 16, 2008
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Francoeur
throws him out.
jug - July 16, 2008
Or throws the ball in the stands….Chuck Knoblauch like
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
Or
GIDP from RF.
jug - July 16, 2008
THIS GAME WOULD'VE BEEN OVER
IF B-MAC HAD PINCH HIT EARLIER!
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
Or if Uggla didn't suck at life.
jug - July 16, 2008
I'm amazed
An hour ago, i stopped caring if the AL won or not.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
me too
only stayed up to see if heap got in
atlbravos - July 16, 2008
I knew it was inevitable that they would.
The NL, just like the Braves, underachieves.
jug - July 16, 2008
Should Uggla be the AL's MVP?
mcboyt - July 16, 2008
It's pretty obvious
Why Lidge was never used. I mean, I could’ve told everyone that he was going to blow it.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
later all
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Clint Hurdle
Atlanta’s #1 Enemy from here on out.
Post game quote: “Hahaha well atleast we got everyone in!”
What a douche.
jjcollins - July 16, 2008
Nice job...
...by Wagner and Lidge!
Smoltz's Beard - July 16, 2008
Where...
In the eff were you? I was demanding to know the totals of Milton Bradley’s best month of hitting doubles in his entire career during the game. Pujols, you’re so whipped.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
I was sitting on my couch watching the game with my laptop in the next room. I thought about signing on to find out whether or not you guys were as pissed as I was to see Heap talking to David Wright the whole game.
Smoltz's Beard - July 16, 2008
If it pertains to baseball
If you’re feeling irritated, we probably are too. If you’re happy about something, we probably are too. Now when it comes to watching the game on low volume while talking to your “not-yet girlfriend” on the phone, we probably don’t have a lot in common.
royhobbs - July 16, 2008
Haha, you’re such a dick…no phone calls of that nature occurred last night. Just me sitting there wondering how many more steals Martin and Soto were going to allow. I know McCann doesn’t have an amazing arm, but I believe Soto allowed 2 and Martin allowed 4!
Oh, and Bradley had 12 doubles in May ‘01.
Smoltz's Beard - July 16, 2008
Hey now, no need to be a good defensive catcher about it, I’ve been in the courting process a few times before. I’ve missed a lot of games because my priorities got jumbled up. Nothing wrong with admitting it…
