Richmond 1, Rochester 2
Bueno pitched a very good game here. I wonder what he will have to do to get himself on the 40 man roster. Anyways, two more hits for Canizares who was the International League Hitter of the week. Richmond is 4-2 in one run games this season. I wish they would pass some of that mojo upwards.
Mississippi 5, Birmingham 6
You know the most impressive thing here for me is how Cuevas allowed nine base runners in less than 4IP and gave up only two runs. Amazing. Greg Creek is ripping the ball right now with a .344 avg in his last 10 with 6 XBH and 7/7 K/BB. Not bad at all. Also the Mississippi pitching staff will be getting a boost from Carlos Sencion, just a day after I wondered what they were doing with him. He will be replacing RHP Brad Nelson who was promoted to Richmond in place of retiring Mike Rozema.
Myrtle Beach 1, Kinston 2
Gorkys led off the game with a home run. It was the Pelicans first and last hit. Amazingly enough they actually held the lead until the ninth, but Butts blew it by loading the bases and giving up a couple of run scoring singles. Reynoso pitched well in only allowing three base runners. He has given up a few runs in his first couple of starts but he still has 18K in 12IP this season so he has some life in his arm. He is already 23 though so he needs to put it together quick to be a real prospect.
Rome took the day off. They will have Savannah visiting them tomorrow with Steve Evarts taking the hill. Not much else tonight. I honestly am intrigued to see what Carlos Sencion will do at Mississippi. Has anyone seen him pitch and if so do you have any impressions, positive or negative?

Umm...
I was at the Mississippi-Birmingham game. The final score was 6-5 Barons. I am not sure where you got 5-2, but that is not correct. The other stats are correct, just not the final.

Looks like it was probably just a typo since everything else was correct. I mean we all knew Mississippi wasn’t going to win a game anyways

Yeah, I figured it was a typo. But just wanted to clarify.

Sencion
I’ve watched him throw bullpens during Spring Training. I like his arm, but it’s hard to get a gauge since I didn’t get to watch him in real competition. I do know that he’s one of the skinniest ballplayers I’ve ever seen. He’s 6’6” and doesn’t look like he weighs more than 160. And he actually looked like he’d gained some weight this year.
