Gonzo Good to Go

It appears that the trick left elbow of Mike Gonzalez was really just playing a trick on him, and it is in fact NOT injured.

Thursday morning's MRI results showed no structural damage to Gonzalez's left elbow...But it's safe to say they were also relieved to learn that the left-handed reliever could begin pitching again during this weekend's series against the Mets.

"We really didn't expect anything different than the results that we got," Braves assistant general manager Frank Wren said. "We have guys get MRIs all the time to see if something is wrong and also to ease their minds."

Braves manager Bobby Cox says he'll likely rest Gonzalez again on Friday. But he says there's a chance that he could use him as soon as Saturday.

Well that's good news. Let's hope the discomfort goes away and doesn't linger and Gonzo gets back to last year's mid-season form.
