Davies Finally Has Solid Outing

Kyle Davies finally had a quality start since returning from the disabled list. He got off to a great start by striking out the first two batters he faced en route to a 1-2-3 first inning. He also stuck out the first batter he faced in the second, third, and fifth innings. In the fourth inning he got a case of the walks, loading the bases before finally getting a pop-out to end the inning. All in all Davies looked pretty good, especially when compared to his previous half dozen outing. Let's see if he can put together several more like this before the end of the season.

The bullpen again pitched well, with Oscar Villarreal serving as the long man after Davies, and Macay McBride and Chad Paronto finishing up the game by pitching the eighth and ninth innings respectively.

Andruw Jones hit another homerun in his bid to stay ahead of Adam LaRoche for the team lead, and Daryle Ward hit a three-run homerun in his first return to Washington after being traded at the end of August.

Hey, we've got a three game winning streak. And with the prospect of facing Washington for two more and the Rockies for four games, we might be able to put together a nice little run to end the season and help us to finish over .500.
